An operational apparatus for a vehicle slide door comprises an outer open lever connected to an outside handle of the door, an inside handle of the door rotatable in door-opening and door-closing directions, an inner open lever connected to the inside handle, a child-proof mechanism, a powered closing unit for closing the door from a half-latched position to the full-latched position, a fail-safe lever for interrupting an operation of the powered closing unit, a sub inner lever connected to the inside handle. The inner open lever transmits a door-closing rotation of the inside handle to the fail-safe lever without through the child-proof mechanism. The sub inner lever transmits a door-opening rotation of the inside handle to the fail-safe lever without through the child-proof mechanism. The fail-safe lever is moved in the same direction by either of the door-opening and the door-closing rotations of the inside handle.

Operational apparatus for vehicle slide door

An opening and closing device comprises a powered sliding unit, a powered closing unit in the slide door, a first terminal connected to a battery on the body, a second terminal connected to the closing unit, a handle switch provided in the door for detecting actuation of an open handle, a controller provided in the body for operating the sliding unit, a wireless apparatus for transmitting a radio signal to the controller when the switch detects the actuation of the handle. The second terminal electrically contacts with the first terminal when the door is closed. The device has a wire apparatus composed of a first wire line for connecting the first terminal and the controller, and a second wire line for connecting the second terminal and the handle switch. A cable anchoring apparatus for detachably attaching a wire cable to a movable member comprises a cable head fixed to the wire cable, a substantially semi-circular-shaped hook formed in the movable member and engageable with the cable head, and a retainer fixed on the movable member. The hook has a first slit and a space for accommodating the cable head. The retainer has an opening overlapped with the space, a notch for communicating the opening to an outside of the retainer, a pair of claws with a sufficient elasticity, and a second slit formed between the claws and communicated with the notch. The gap of the notch and the gap of the second slit are substantially equal to the gap of the first slit. A path is formed between an edge of the opening and the claws and is narrower than the diameter of the cable head. The claws extend distantly from the space.

An initially opening device for a vehicle sliding door comprises an output member rotated by a motor, a winch lever rotated from a stand-by position to an initial-open position, a connecting lever for connecting the output member to the winch lever, a press member provided in the sliding door and connected to the winch lever, a ratchet lever connected to a latch unit provided at rear portion of the door for engaging a striker fixed to a vehicle body, and a contact surface formed in the ratchet lever and brought into contact with the winch lever for rotating the ratchet lever when the winch lever is rotated toward the initial-open position. The press member is brought into contact with the vehicle body to move the rear portion of the sliding door in an initial opening direction when the winch lever is displaced from the stand-by position to the initial-open position.

A powered sliding device for a sliding door comprises a wire drum rotated by a motor, a wire cable connecting the wire drum and the sliding door, a clutch mechanism provided between the wire drum and the motor. The clutch mechanism has a first coupling state for opening the door, a second coupling state for closing the door, and an uncoupling state. The wire drum has a cylindrical shape having a substantially closed end and an opposite open end, and an inner space formed inside thereof. The clutch mechanism is substantially provided within the inner space. The clutch mechanism is displaced into the first coupling state when the motor rotates in a given direction and displaced into the second coupling state when the motor rotates in a direction opposite to the given direction. The clutch mechanism is returned to the uncoupling state from the first coupling state when the motor is rotated in the opposite direction by a predetermined amount, and is returned to the uncoupling state from the second coupling state when the motor is rotated in the given direction by the predetermined amount.

An apparatus for transmitting power from a motor to a movable member comprises a drum connected to the movable member, a cam member rotated around a center shaft by the motor, a clutch member displaced from a standby position to a full engagement position through an initial engagement position when the cam member is rotated, a return spring for urging the clutch member from the full engagement position toward the standby position, and a brake member for applying a predetermined frictional resistance to the clutch member. The clutch member moves the brake member from a braking position to a non-braking position when the clutch member is moved from the initial engagement position toward the full engagement position. The power supply switch stops supplying the power to the optical sensor while the door is being closed.

A packing mounting structure for a vehicle door powered sliding device comprises an elongated guide rail fixed to a side panel of a vehicle body, a sliding door mounted on the body, a powered sliding unit arranged on an interior side of the side panel, a wire cable provided between the sliding door and the powered sliding unit, a pulley holder provided in the vicinity of one end of the guide rail and having a first pulley around which the cable wire is set, a cable hole formed on the side panel in the vicinity of the one end of the guide rail for passing the wire cable through the side panel, a flexible packing member mounted in the cable hole to close a gap between the cable hole and the wire cable. The pulley holder is fixed to the side panel by either of a screw or bolt. The packing member has an inserting portion which is inserted into the cable hole, and a large-diameter portion which has a diameter sufficiently larger than that of the cable hole and abuts on an inside surface of the side panel when the inserting portion is inserted into the cable hole. The large-diameter portion is firmly sandwiched between the pulley holder and the side panel.
