Color cathode ray tube having improved main lens

A color cathode ray tube including a panel section having a phosphor layer formed on an internal surface thereof, a neck portion having an electron gun assembly for emission of three electron beams therein, and a funnel section connecting the panel section and the neck portion. The electron gun assembly includes three cathodes and a plurality of grid electrodes disposed along a tube axis. The grid electrodes includes at least one plate-shaped electrode which has a fixed support structure. The plate-shaped electrode has three bulged portions along an electron beam passage, a first electron beam passage hole being formed in a respective bulged portion and a second electron beam passage being hole formed in a top face portion of a respective bulge portion. A diameter of the first electron beam passage hole is greater than a diameter of the second electron beam passage hole.

A cathode ray tube including an electron gun including a cathode and a plurality of electrodes and for generating an electron beam, a phosphor screen and an electron beam deflection device. The cathode ray tube includes a deflection-defocusing correcting member having laminated nonmagnetic and magnetic materials disposed in a deflection magnetic field produced by the electron beam deflection device for establishing at least one non-uniform magnetic field. The magnetic materials are disposed at positions with respect to a path of the electron beam where a magnetic flux density of said deflection magnetic field is more than five per cent of a maximum magnetic flux density of the deflection magnetic field.

A color cathode ray tube includes a panel section having an internal surface with a phosphor layer formed thereon and a neck portion accommodating therein an electron gun assembly for emission of a plurality of electron beams plus a funnel section connecting the panel section and the neck portion together, wherein the electron gun assembly is designed to have a plate-shaped electrode with a plurality of electron beam passage holes corresponding in the number to the electron beams. The plate electrode has cylindrical bulged portions projecting in a way corresponding to the plurality of electron beams, each of which portion has its top face in which an electron beam opening or hole is formed. The present invention provides a color cathode ray tube comprising a readily manufacturable high-resolution electron gun assembly.

A color cathode ray tube having an electron gun which includes a one piece electrode plate. The one piece electrode plate has three beam passage holes in an in-line arrangement and bead supports. The one piece electrode plate has two portions including a portion having the beam passage holes and a portion having the bead supports which are formed as a one piece structure. The portion having the beam passage holes has a thickness larger than a thickness of the bead supports portion and the one piece structure has steps and continuous walls between the two portions.

Color cathode ray tube having improved main lens electrodes

A cathode-ray tube having an electron gun which includes an electrode plate (E) in which a portion having three beam passage holes (H) and a portion having bead supports (S) are formed as a unitary or one piece structure, the two portions having different thicknesses (T.sub.1, T.sub.2), and the steps being inclinedly formed along the boundaries of the two portions. Since the portion having beam passage holes and the portion having bead supports are formed as a unitary or one piece structure easily and highly precisely in the electrode plate, the conventionally employed process of welding can be omitted, and thereby the productivity is raised and the manufacturing cost is decreased. Moreover, use of the material having the steps formed in advance contributes to increasing the productivity and preventing the machining tools from being damaged during the press-forming.

A color cathode ray tube includes an electron gun having a plurality of electrodes, an electron beam deflection device and a phosphor screen. A deflection defocusing correcting element is located in a deflection magnetic field produced by the deflection device to locally modify the magnetic field in a path of an electron beam and corrects the deflection defocusing of the electron beam corresponding to deflection of the electron beam. The deflection defocusing element includes the magnetic metal plate providing magnetic pole pieces and a non-magnetic metal support for holding the magnetic metal plate in place. A color cathode ray tube includes a phosphor screen, a shadow mask closely spaced from the phosphor screen and electron gun. The electron gun has a plurality of electrodes including a plurality of cathodes for emitting a plurality of in-line electron beams, a control grid having a plurality of in-line apertures centered with the cathodes, an accelerating electrode, a cup-shaped focus electrode and a cup-shaped anode fixed on insulating supports. Each of the cup-shaped focus electrode and anode has at a first end face thereof opposing the other of the cup-shaped focus electrode and anode, a single opening surrounded by a rim formed by turning in the end face thereof toward an interior thereof. Each of said cup-shaped focus electrode and anode has a correction plate electrode therein, has a step on an inner wall thereof at a position set back from the first end face thereof to provide a first portion having an inside diameter larger on an open end side thereof opposite the first end face, than that of a second portion thereof on a side of the first end face. The correction plate electrode is pressed against the step and fixed to the cup-shaped electrode, or is fixed in the second portion of the smaller inside diameter.
