A tunable antenna includes an antenna element having a feed point at one end thereof, a feed line being connected to the feed point, and a switcher that switches the resonance frequency of the antenna element. The switcher is connected to the antenna element at a position that is at a distance other than (&#x3bb;/4)&#xd7;n from the one end towards another end of the antenna element, where &#x3bb;represents the wavelength corresponding to any resonance frequency of the antenna element, and n is a positive, odd number.

Tunable antenna

This electronic device includes a wearing detector, provided at a position that comes close to or in contact with a human body when the electronic device is worn by a user, that detects wearing of the electronic device by the user, an antenna that transmits radio waves, and a controller that restricts transmission of radio waves from the antenna when wearing is detected by the wearing detector.

A communication device is capable of extending a power supply unit to a second casing without additional components. A mobile telephone includes a circuit board disposed at an operation unit-side casing, a circuit board disposed at a display unit-side casing, a circuit part formed on the circuit board having a ground pattern and a contact point, a reference potential pattern layer disposed at the operation unit-side casing and electrically connected to the ground pattern, a reference potential pattern layer disposed at the display unit-side casing, and an FPC unit. The FPC unit includes a signal line and a shield layer. The shield layer is electrically connected to the contact point in the operation unit-side casing and is thus electrically connected to the reference potential pattern layer in the display unit-side casing.

An object of the present invention is to provide a mobile terminal device capable of utilizing a conductive portion further more effectively. A cellular telephone device includes: a key switch, of which electrical state changes depending on an operation on an operation unit; a CPU that is connected to the key switch, and detects an operation on the operation unit based on change in the electrical state of the key switch; a power supply unit that is electrically connected to the key switch; and an RF circuit unit that is connected to the power supply unit, and processes a signal resonated by the key switch.

An electronic device is disclosed. The electronic device includes a housing, a circuit board, an antenna, electronic components, and a wiring part. The circuit board is built inside the housing on which an opening is formed. The antenna is facing one surface of the circuit board. Electronic components are disposed at the position facing the antenna through the circuit board, on the other surface of the circuit board, in a state such that the electronic components are not fixed to the circuit board The wiring part passes through the opening of the circuit board, with one end connected to the electronic components on one side of the circuit board and other end connected to the circuit board on the other surface of the circuit board.

Provided is a portable terminal capable of ensuring satisfactory antenna characteristics regardless of a change in state, and of accommodating a plurality of frequency bands. A first circuit unit comprises: a first signal source; a first power feeding unit connected to a first antenna unit; a second power feeding unit connected to a first connection unit; a first switching unit which connects the first power feeding unit or the second power feeding unit to the first signal source by switching; and a first control unit which controls the first switching unit so as to connect the second power feeding unit to the first signal source when the portable terminal is transitioned to a second state. A first disconnection unit is disposed between the first connection unit and the first circuit unit and disconnects a first signal.

The communication device includes: a first body; a second body; a connecting portion that connects the first body and the second body, so as to be capable of switching between a closed state in which the first body and the second body are superimposed with each other, and an opened state in which a degree of mutual superimposition is smaller than that of the closed state; a first conductive portion that is disposed in the first body; a second conductive portion that is disposed in the second body; a signal line that electrically connects the first conductive portion and the second conductive portion via the inside of the connecting portion; a first antenna, which is disposed in at least one of the first body and the second body, and which is electrically connected to the first conductive portion or the second conductive portion; and a second antenna, which is disposed in at least one of the first body and the second body, and which is capacitively coupled with the first conductive portion or the second conductive portion.

A mobile wireless device enables effective use of space in a case while reducing degradation of antenna gain and maintaining communication quality even if a plurality of antennas having different frequency bands are arranged close to one another. A magnetic antenna has a first switch unit, a second switch unit, and a concentrated constant circuit which are added to a wiring pattern at the side near to a main antenna, so that a first path and a second path can be selected. Under a predetermined condition, a CPU controls the first switch and the second switch to electrically connect terminal (A) to terminal (B) and electrically connect terminal (A) to terminal (B), thereby forming the first path; and electrically connect terminal (A) to terminal (C) and electrically connect terminal (A) to terminal (C), thereby forming the second path connected via the concentrated constant circuit.
