The invention provides a polypropylene based resin composition, which has good moldability on injection molding and which is excellent in its flow mark appearance as well as weld appearance on molding, and suitable for injection-molded articles such as exterior parts of automobiles, and also provides a moldability modifier used for the composition. The invention is a moldability modifier for a polypropylene based resin, which comprises at least one of a propylene homopolymer and a propylene random polymer having die swell ratio of 1.5 to 2.5 and ratio (Q value: Mw/Mn) of 7 to 13 of the weight average molecular weight (Mw) to the number average molecular weight (Mn) measured by gel permeation chromatography (GPC). The moldability modifier is mixed with a propylene-ethylene block copolymer, an ethylenic or styrenic elastomer, an inorganic filler, etc. to prepare a polypropylene based resin composition.

Moldability modifier for polypropylene resin and polypropylene resin composition containing the same

The present invention provides a resin composition high in melting flow, exhibiting good properties, excellent in moldability and shrinkage properties, and hence suitable for automobile exteriors, by including (A) propylene/ethylene block copolymer having a melt flow rate (MFR) of 100 to 200 g/10 min., its propylene homopolymer component having an MFR of 210 to 400 g/10 min. and isotactic pentad fraction of 0.98 or more, and its copolymer portion containing propylene at 65 to 85% by weight; 50 to 70% by weight, (B) ethylene/octene and/or ethylene/butene random copolymer; 10 to 25% by weight, (C) styrene-based hydrogenated block copolymer rubber; 4 to 9% by weight and (D) talc; 16 to 24% by weight.

Propylene resin composition excellent in moldability and physical properties

The present invention provides A polypropylene-based resin composition, comprising (A) 45 to 85 wt. % of a propylene/ethylene block copolymer, having a melt flow rate (MFR) of 100 g/10 min. or more for the propylene homopolymer portion and 50 to 200 g/10 min. for the total copolymer, (B) 0.5 to 20 wt. % of a propylene homopolymer having a weight-average molecular weight (Mw) of 10,000 to 110,000, (C) 5 to 35 wt. % of an ethylene/&agr;-olefin copolymer rubber and/or ethylene/&agr;-olefin/non-conjugate diene copolymer rubber, and/or hydrogenated block copolymer rubber, having an MFR of 0.1 to 20 g/10 min., and (D) 5 to 30 wt. % of talc having an average particle size of 10 &mgr;m or less, determined by the laser diffraction method.

Polypropylene-based resin composition of excellent moldability and giving molded product of excellent appearance

There is provided a thermoplastic resin composition comprising the following components (A) to (E): component (A): 50 to 74.7% by weight of a Ziegler-Natta catalyst sequentially polymerized blend of a propylene homopolymer and an ethylene-propylene copolymer, component (B): 5 to 10% by weight of an ethylene-octene random copolymer, component (C): 5 to 10% by weight of an ethylene-butene random copolymer, component (D): 0.3 to 5% by weight of an elastomer.

This invention provides polypropylene resin compositions which have sharply improved balance of physical properties in comparison with the related polypropylene materials, are materials that can be used in both interior and exterior parts of automobiles, have excellent thin-wall moldability and can sharply reduce generation of flow marks. Particularly, it provides a polypropylene resin composition which comprises specified amounts of (A) a specified ethylene-propylene block copolymer, (B) a specified thermoplastic elastomer and (C) talc, wherein it has specified values of physical properties measured by ASTM and has a degree of b-axis orientation of 720 or more which is calculated from the ratio of differential peak intensities measured by wide-angle X-ray diffraction of the central area of an ASTM No. 1 dumbbell prepared by injection molding.
