A three-dimensional display device includes a display, a barrier, and a controller. The display displays a parallax image including a right-eye viewing image and a left-eye viewing image. The barrier defines a traveling direction of image light of the parallax image. The controller causes a black image to appear between the right-eye viewing image and the left-eye viewing image based on a parallax value of the parallax image.

Three-dimensional display device, image display system, and movable body

A head-up display is mountable on a movable body, and includes a first display panel, a reflective optical element, and an optical member. The first display panel displays a first image. The reflective optical element at least partially reflects image light from the first image displayed by the first display panel toward a user of the movable body. The optical member is between the display panel and the reflective optical element and is light transmissive. The display panel includes a surface facing a surface of the optical member. Each of the surface of the display panel and the surface of the optical member includes a reflection reduction layer to reduce light reflection.

Head-up display, head-up display system, and movable body

A liquid crystal display device prevents light leakage in a black display of a projected image when a light source reaches a higher temperature, and displays a high-quality image without any lost sense of reality. The device includes a light-transmissive liquid crystal display element including two glass substrates and a liquid crystal layer sealed between the glass substrates, a backlight device that emits light toward one glass substrate in the liquid crystal display element, an emission-light polarizing plate on the other glass substrate, an incident-light polarizing plate on the one glass substrate, and a polarizer being a plate and including a base layer including a glass substrate and a metal layer stacked on the base layer and having a polarization function. The polarizer is located with the base layer facing the incident-light polarizing plate. The base layer is thicker than each of the glass substrates.

Liquid crystal display device

A head-up display system includes a first projection module that projects a first image to display the first image in a forward direction not directly facing a user, a second projection module that projects a second image to display the second image in a forward direction directly facing the user, and a reflective optical element that reflects at least a part of the first image and at least a part of the second image.

Head-up display system and movable body

A head-up display includes a display panel, a reflective optical element, a controller, and an obtainer. The display panel displays a first image. The reflective optical element reflects image light from the first image displayed by the display panel. The controller controls a position at which the first image is displayed on the display panel. The obtainer obtains, as positional information, a position of an eye of a user. The controller changes the position at which the first image is displayed on the display panel in accordance with the positional information.

A head-up display and a movable body can display a virtual image viewable at a position nearer a user. The head-up display includes a display device that displays a first image and emits image light from the first image in a first direction, a first optical member located in the first direction from the display device, and a second optical member located between the display device and the first optical member in the first direction. The second optical member reflects the first image in a first plane direction and a second plane direction and displays a virtual image of the first image in a space between the first optical member and a user.

Head-up display and movable body

A head-up display system includes a first projection module, a second projection module, and a first reflective optical element. The first projection module projects a first image. The second projection module projects a second image. The first reflective optical element reflects at least a part of the first image and at least a part of the second image. The first projection module includes a first display panel that displays the first image and projects the first image toward the first reflective optical element. The second projection module includes a second display panel that displays the second image, and an optical system that directs the second image toward the first reflective optical element.

Solid electrolyte, electrode, power storage device, and method for producing solid electrolytes

A solid electrolyte () of the present disclosure includes porous silica () having a plurality of pores () interconnected mutually and an electrolyte () coating inner surfaces of the plurality of pores (). The electrolyte () includes 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide represented by EMI-FSI and a lithium salt dissolved in the EMI-FSI. A molar ratio of the EMI-FSI to the porous silica () is larger than 1.0 and less than 3.5.

A display device includes: a first panel including a first image-forming surface for forming a first image visually recognized by a user and a plurality of first pixels; a second panel including a second image-forming surface for forming a second image visually recognized by the user and a plurality of second pixels; and a half-wavelength plate located between the first image-forming surface and the second image-forming surface. The half-wavelength plate includes an optical axis, is configured to be capable of transmitting incident light from either one panel of the first panel and the second panel, and of emitting light as emission light to the other panel. A polarization direction of the emission light from the half-wavelength plate is determined based on a polarization direction of the incident light on the half-wavelength plate and a direction of the optical axis.

A display device is switchable between 3D image display and 2D image display. The display device includes a first display panel, a second display panel, a controller, and an optical system. The first and second display panels each include subpixels arranged in a grid. The controller performs switching and/or is configured to perform switching between multiple display modes including a first display mode for displaying a 2D image and a second display mode for displaying a parallax image on the first display panel, and switches and/or is configured to switch a drive mode of the second display panel between multiple drive modes including a first drive mode corresponding to the first display mode and a second drive mode corresponding to the second display mode.

A display device includes a first display panel, a second display panel, and a controller. The first display panel includes a plurality of first subpixels which are aligned in a grid-like layout in an x-direction and a y-direction. The second display panel includes a plurality of second subpixels which are aligned in a grid-like layout along the x-direction and the y-direction at a same pitch as that of the plurality of first sub pixels. The controller controls the plurality of first subpixels and the plurality of second subpixels based on image data. A solid electrolyte () of the present disclosure includes: a porous dielectric () having a plurality of pores () interconnected mutually; an electrolyte () including a metal salt and at least one selected from the group consisting of an ionic compound and a bipolar compound, the electrolyte () at least partially filling an interior of each of the plurality of pores (); and a surface adsorption layer () adsorbed on inner surfaces of the plurality of pores () to induce polarization. The surface adsorption layer () may include water adsorbed on the inner surfaces of the plurality of pores (). Solid electrolyte, electrode, and power storage device

A liquid crystal display device of the present invention includes, in the given order: a first substrate; a liquid crystal layer containing liquid crystal molecules; and a second substrate. The first substrate includes a first electrode, a second electrode closer to the liquid crystal layer than the first electrode is, and an insulating film between the first electrode and the second electrode. The second electrode is provided with openings including a first opening and a second opening adjacent to each other. The first opening and the second opening are independent of each other and are point-symmetrical to each other. The first opening and the second opening each have a shape including: curved portions that expand an opening periphery outward at the respective ends in the longitudinal direction; and paired protruding portions that allow the opening periphery to protrude partially in the lateral direction in the middle of the longitudinal direction. The liquid crystal molecules are aligned parallel to the first substrate in a no-voltage-applied state where no voltage is applied between the first electrode and the second electrode.

Liquid crystal display device having shaped openings

A technique is provided that reduces dullness of a potential provided to a line such as gate line on an active-matrix substrate to enable driving the line at high speed and, at the same time, reduces the size of the picture frame region. On an active-matrix substrate () are provided gate lines (G) and source lines. On the active-matrix substrate () are further provided: gate drivers () each including a plurality of switching elements, at least one of which is located in a pixel region, for supplying a scan signal to a gate line (G); and lines (L) each for supplying a control signal to the associated gate driver (). A control signal is supplied by a display control circuit () located outside the display region to the gate drivers () via the lines (L). In response to a control signal supplied, each gate driver () drives the gate line (G) to which it is connected.
