The disclosure discloses a printer including a feeder configured to feed one print-receiving medium that comprises a plurality of print-receiving parts. A printing head is configured to form a plurality of print parts by sequentially forming desired prints on the plurality of print-receiving parts. A CPU executes a determination process and a printing control process. In the determination process, a type of the one print-receiving medium is determined on the basis of a comparison between the parameters of the one print-receiving medium detected by a sensor and the parameters of each of the plural types of print-receiving medium stored in a memory. In the printing control process, controlling a print formation operation of the printing head is controlled on the basis of a determination result in the determination process.

The disclosure discloses a printed matter producing device including a unique information acquiring portion, an identifier determining portion, a bar-coding portion, and a control portion. The unique information acquiring portion is configured to acquire unique information uniquely retained by the printed matter producing device. The identifier determining portion is configured to read a template so as to determine whether a predetermined collection identifier exists or not in the read template. The bar-coding portion is configured to generate and expand print data to a printing buffer in the case that the collection identifier is present, the print data having the unique information acquired and assigned to contents of the bar-code object included in the template. The control portion is configured to, by using the print data expanded to the printing buffer, to produce the printed matter having a bar-code print portion corresponding to the bar-code object.

A communication portion receives object data corresponding to an object. A processor receives a record including single object data and object names from an external device. The processor first stores the record and object names and first selects the object name having a predetermined configuration. The disclosure discloses a printer including a controller configured to execute a setting process, a transport stop process, and a first transport control process. In the transport stop process, a driving device is controlled to stop transport of a print-receiving medium in a state in which an intermediate position faces a cutter. The intermediate position is between a print part last in order and a print-receiving part located immediately after the print part last in order. In the first transport control process, the driving device is control to transport the print-receiving medium to an upstream side by a first unit transport amount in accordance with an operation of a first operation device or to transport the print-receiving medium to a downstream side by a second unit transport amount in accordance with an operation of a second operation device.

A printer comprises a feeder, a printing head, and a detecting device. The feeder feeds a print-receiving tape having multiple print-receiving portions, each of the print-receiving portions having a detected element. The detecting device detects the detected element, provided on an upstream side of the printing head by a predetermined distance X. A first positioning reference is generated when the detecting device detects the detected element of a first print-receiving portion. The printing head may be controlled, when the detecting device detects the detected element of the first print-receiving portion, to perform print formation on a second print-receiving portion preceding the first print-receiving portion and facing the printing head, using the first positioning reference.

A print medium includes a plurality of print areas and a plurality of identification markers. The plurality of print areas are set along a longitudinal direction on a printing surface. The plurality of print areas are a plurality of areas on which printing is to be performed. The disclosure discloses a printer comprising a storage device, a feeder, a printing head, an instruction input portion, a first control portion, a detection determining portion, and a second control portion. The printing head performs desired printing on the print-receiving medium fed in a forward direction along a transport direction by a feeder. The instruction input portion inputs an operation instruction for starting print processing. The first control portion controls the feeder so as to start feeding of the print-receiving medium in the forward direction. The detection determining portion determines whether or not a detecting device detects the identifier after feeding in the forward direction was started. The second control portion controls the feeder so as to feed the print-receiving medium in a reverse direction, and to position a position of the print-receiving medium in a predetermined first initial position.
