Compressor for a vehicle air conditioner

In the pressure control valve assembly according to the present invention, a plurality of communication passages or slits is formed in either the movable throttling plunger or its associated stationary seat portion, and such passages are so arranged that their effective communication area is variable with the plunger movement relative to the seat portion in the region where the plunger is positioned close to its full-throttling position, whereby throttling of the refrigerant gas in such a region is achieved through the effective communication area of these passages.

Pressure control valve assembly

An anti-rolling structure for a double headed piston of a disc cam type reciprocative compressor, comprising a cylinder block (1) through which a plurality of pairs of front and rear cylinder bores (4) are provided in parallel to a drive shaft (3) rotatably secured in the center of the cylinder block (1), and a double headed piston (8) slidably inserted in the respective pair of cylinder bores (4) for reciprocation in the longitudinal direction. A disc cam (13) having opposite sinuous surfaces (13') and rotatably accommodated within a cam chamber (5) is fixedly secured to the drive shaft (3), and a pair of front and rear cam rollers (14F, 14R) are arranged between the disc cam (13) and the piston (8) in a slidable and rotatable manner so as to nip the disc cam (13) between both cam rollers (14F, 14R) to transmit the rotation of the disc cam (13) to the piston (8) as a reciprocation in the longitudinal direction thereof. The front and rear cam rollers (14F, 14R) are positioned so that the axes of rotation thereof are not included in the center plane defined by longitudinal axes of the piston (8) and the disc cam (13) but disposed, respectively, in the opposite areas sectioned by the center plane with a substantially equal deviation from each other from the center plane. According to the above structure, the rolling motion of the piston (8) can be effectively restricted throughout the operation of the compressor.

Anti-rolling structure for double headed piston of disc cam type

A swash-plate type compressor having a housing, a drive shaft rotatably supported by the housing, a swash-plate slantly secured on the drive shaft, and a plurality of pistons fitted in a cylinder bore formed in correspondence to each of the pistons parallelly to the drive shaft and provided with a pair of concave spherical surface formed therein. Each of the pistons is engaged with the swash-plate via a pair of shoes of substantially semi-spherical shape. The shoe has a convex spherical surface which is in sliding contact with the concave spherical surface of the piston and a flat-side surface which is in sliding contact with the swash-plate. The flat-side surface consists of a chamfered surface annularly formed on the outer portion thereof and a centrally left substantially flat surface with a diameter as large as about 60-90% of that of the whole flat-side surface. The substantially flat surface is formed into an extremely gentle convex surface with a height less than 15 .mu.m at the peak located in the center thereof. The whole surface of the shoe is covered by a solid lubricating film.

Swash-plate type compressor

The volumetric fluid compressor device or so-called scroll type compressor device comprises a rotary shaft mounted centrally at the front side of a housing and a movable scroll member having its scroll portion partially contacted with a scroll portion of a fixed scroll member. Sealed chambers or compression chambers delimited between the two scroll portions are contracted towards the center for compressing the refrigerant gas therein. A slider is mounted at the inner end of the rotary shaft for reciprocation radially thereof. An offset pin having an axis offset from the axis of the rotary shaft is fast with the slider and carries the movable scroll member. The slider is normally urged by a compression spring in a direction to reduce the amount of offset, that is, to reduce the radius of offset rotation of the offset pin, and may be urged by the pressure in the compression chamber in a direction to increase the radius of offset rotation of the offset pin against resiliency of the compression spring. With increase in the radius of offset rotation, the contact pressure between the movable and fixed scroll portions is increased with resulting increase of the force of sealing.

Volumetric fluid compressor device

A swash plate type compressor for use in air conditioning systems operating with a refrigerant gas in which lubricating oil is previously mixed, comprises a plurality of cylinder bores and pistons, a swash plate chamber wherein a swash plate for reciprocating the pistons within the cylinder bores, is accomodated, a plurality of suction passages communicated with the swash plate chamber, suction chambers and exhaust chambers communicated with the cylinder bores, respectively and at least one sub-suction chamber communicated with the suction chambers through a shaft seal chamber wherein a shaft seal member is accomodated. At least one suction passage which is communicated with the swash plate chamber in the bottom portion thereof is communicated with the sub-suction chamber and the other suction passages are communicated with the suction chambers. The refrigerant gas and liquid oil stayed in the bottom portion of the swash plate chamber is flowed into the shaft seal chamber through the suction passage which is communicated with the bottom portion of the swash plate chamber, and subsuction chamber. The refrigerant gas and liquid oil lubricates and cools the shaft seal member accomodated within the shaft seal chamber and is atomized due to the operation of the shaft seal member. Then, the atomized refrigerant gas is flowed into each of the cylinder bores through the suction chambers. Therefore, the refrigerant gas is uniformly compressed within each of the cylinder bores without generating liquid compression.

Swash plate type compressor

A swash plate type compressor comprising a plurality of cylinder bores and pistons, a swash plate chamber wherein a swash plate for reciprocating the pistons within the cylinder bores is fixed to and rotated with a drive shaft, at least one suction passage communicated with the swash plate chamber, suction chambers and exhaust chambers communicated with the cylinder bores, respectively. Two inlet ports open into the swash plate chamber so as to be opposed to a peripheral side surface of the swash plate when it is inclined to its utmost limit into a front side and a rear side in a predetermined longitudinal section of the compressor. The fluid sucked into the compressor is compressed therein with uniform volumetric efficiency without obstructed by the rotation of the swash plate.

A swash plate type compressor, in which there is incorporated a plurality of double-headed compressor pistons, each being formed with an axially central recess between two heads thereof. Inside the recess a generally outer part of the swash plate is arranged so as to establish an operative connection between each piston and the swash plate. The axially central recess has a bottom surface a part of which protrudes toward an outer surface of the swash plate. The protruding part serves to restrict a rotation of each piston about its own axis to a given small amount. The protruding part has an axial length determined so that when each compressor piston approaches one of the two compression dead centers, an outer edge of the swash plate comes away from the protruding part.

A rotary compressor for compressing fluid. A housing having a cylindrical internal cavity is provided with vanes and delivery ports. A rotor is rotatably mounted in the housing. The rotor has a portion for making a sealing contact with the inner peripheral surface of the housing. The rotor has a suction chamber formed therein. The number of the vanes is greater by 1 (one) than the number of the sealing contacts between the rotor and the inner peripheral surface of the housing. At least one suction port is formed through the wall of the rotor, so that the fluid in the suction chamber may be sucked into the working chamber defined by the vanes, rotor and the housing. The suction port is so located that, when a working chamber has been expanded to its maximum volume, the suction port is positioned between the vane located at the leading side of the working chamber as viewed in the direction or rotation of the rotor and the sealing portion closer to the vane. The fluid compressed in the working chamber is delivered to the outside of the housing through the delivery ports.

Rotary compressor with vanes in the housing and suction through the rotor

A valve assembly, for a multi-cylinder swash plate type compressor, which includes a gasket means made of a metallic plate and coated, on both faces thereof, with a resilient film, such as a rubber film. The gasket means comprises an outermost, an intermediate, and an innermost annular portion for applying a hermetic seal effect to low and high pressure refrigerant chambers in the compressor. The annular portions of the gasket means are interconnected by a rib means including a plurality of ribs functioning to permit only a predetermined magnitude of opening motion of outlet reed valve means of the compressor.

Valve assembly for a multi-cylinder swash plate type compressor

A swash-plate type compressor wherein a valve plate confronting an oil reservoir is provided with a vertical oil passage therein which is communicated with the oil reservoir via a relatively large through-bore formed at the lower end thereof, and is also provided with a gas inducing bore of a small diameter at a slightly higher position than the oil level in the oil reservoir for communicating therewith. By means of advantageously utilizing the pressure difference between the inside of the oil reservoir and that of the suction chamber as well as the centrifugal force caused by the rotation of the driving shaft and the swash-plate, the oil in the reservoir can be carried up together with the blow-up gas to each of the places requiring appropriate lubrication through two of the passages for the mixture of gas and oil, tandem arranged, large diametered and then small diametered, bored through the driving shaft, and a plurality of oil distribution bores formed in the boss of the swash-plate.

D A swash plate type compressor adapted for use in an automotive cooling system is disclosed. A cylinder block, which forms a principal part of the compressor and is axially divided into two portions, has at least four bores arranged at equal distances along the circumference thereof. A clamping bolt for uniting all principal members of the compressor extends through a hole provided through a narrow interzone lying between each two adjacent bores. The through hole has a diameter considerably greater than that of the clamping bolt. The space between the inner surface of the hole and the outer surface of the bolt serves as a passage through which a low pressure refrigerant gas flows, and this helps simplification in construction and improvement in capacity of the swash plate type compressor.
