An optical sheet having both of an excellent light condensing function and an excellent scratch resistance is provided. An optical sheet includes: a sheet-like main body; at least three or more first unit shaped elements arranged on one surface of the main body; and second unit shaped elements arranged on the one surface of the main body. Each of the second unit shaped elements extend in parallel with in one direction on a sheet surface of the main body. A height Hof each of the first unit shaped elements from the one surface is higher than a height Hof each of the second unit shaped elements. A rate of an area occupied by the first unit shaped elements on the one surface is not more than 10.0%, when observed along a normal direction nd relative to the one surface.

Image output apparatus and image output method for printing out the photographed image which is captured by a digital camera

An image processing system including an image processing unit for processing input image data and an output unit for outputting an image processed in the image processing unit. The image processing unit has the function of cutting out a background portion of the image and effecting color specification and further has the function of specifying a method of processing the background portion. When printing the image, the output unit recognizes the background portion on the basis of the color specification and carries out background processing for the recognized background portion on the basis of the specified background processing method. It is possible to prevent visible unevenness of printing from occurring in the background portion.

Image processing system

A printing system according to the present invention includes a media terminal box which may be installed on a street. In the box, there are disposed a measuring device that measures the temperature or humidity in the box, a device such as a CPU, and a storage device. The storage device stores correction data including a correction value based on a combination of the temperature and humidity, and history data relating to the temperature and humidity measured by the measuring device. The control device corrects a color tone of image data which is read out from the storage device based on the temperature/humidity history data and the correction data so as to generate corrected image data. The corrected image data is sent to a printer, and then the printer is operated based on the corrected image data.

Printing system that corrects image data based on environmental history data

A thermal transfer printer containing a means for feeding a plurality of thermal transfer sheets and a plurality of image receiving sheets, a platen roller placed in the feeding path of the thermal transfer and image receiving sheets, and a recording section with a thermal head with a plurality of heating resistors for selective activation based upon image data to record the image on the image receiving sheets when they and the thermal transfer sheets are forced together by the platen roller so each image receiving sheet is pressed on the thermal head surface by the platen roller. The recording section also has a means to detect when at least one of the thermal transfer and image receiving sheets being recorded are out and a means automatically to exchange the thermal transfer or image receiving sheets with new sheets based upon the detected result.

Photographing box

A photographing box is arranged to reduce a time taken from photographing an object to printing the image of the object. The photographing box is intended to be manufactured at low cost and more easily maintained. The photographing box includes a photographing mechanism house for housing a photographing mechanism and a photographing space section. If paid, the photographing device is operated to illuminate an object, photograph the object, and do some image processing like image magnification or reduction or image layout. Plural images sized for different uses are output on one cut sheet by a sublimation transfer printer. The photographing box operates to print out the image at high speed, and is manufactured at low cost and more easily maintained.

An image receiving sheet comprises a paper substrate, a foamed layer formed on a paper substrate and a color receptor layer formed on the foamed layer. The image receiving sheet and an ink sheet are attached to each other in an overlapped fashion so that a printing energy from the thermal head is applied to all printing area at a time of image forming, the printing energy including an image-wise energy corresponding to image data and a background energy being applied to all printing area of the image receiving sheet and being defined in a look-up table, the image data is controlled by the look-up table. According to a thermal transfer recording method of the present invention, a good quality image can be formed on the image receiving sheet.

Thermal transfer recording method

A gradation correction data used in correcting the gradation of the printed image is recorded on the leader film of the ink ribbon in a form of optically readable marks. Then the ink ribbon is set in a thermal printer, the marks are read out by an optical sensor to obtain the gradation correction data. Then, the gradation correction of the image data to be printed is carried out by referring to the correction data thus obtained prior to the actual printing of the image data.

A roll-type heat transfer image-receiving sheet comprising a wind-up cylinder and a heat transfer image-receiving sheet which comprises at least a substrate and a coloring material-receiving layer provided thereon, the heat transfer image-receiving sheet being wound around the wind-up cylinder, wherein the maximum surface roughness of the wind-up cylinder in the longitudinal direction thereof is controlled to 40 micrometers or less; the wind-up cylinder is prepared by using pulp as a main component, and a cushioning material is provided between the wind-up cylinder and the heat transfer image-receiving sheet; a lead sheet is provided to the leading end of the heat transfer image-receiving sheet so that the image-receiving sheet can be easily led through a printer; and the heat transfer image-receiving sheet is wound around the wind-up cylinder with the coloring material-receiving sheet outside so that curl will not remain in the image-receiving sheet and that curl will not be developed during a printing process. An image free frost unevenness of density and voids can be produced on the image-receiving sheet without being affected by the roughness or difference in level present on the surface of the wind-up cylinder. The image-receiving sheet has stable transfer printing properties, and, in the roil of the image-receiving sheet, even a portion near the wind-up cylinder can be used and is not wasted.
