In molding a connector block for injectors including a fuel passage integrally formed, a fuel rail including the fuel passage is advancedly formed by a first molding. The fuel rail is provided with a plurality of positioning projections with respect to metal molds for a secondary molding in a longitudinal direction. The fuel rail is set in a position and placed in the metal molds. When the secondary molding is conducted in this state, the fuel rail will not be subjected a positional displacement, but can be accurately molded.

Connector block for injectors

Electrically conductive sheet metal is bent to form a terminal fitting 1. A pair of stabilizers or fins 6 protrude, and almost the entire face of the side faces of the stabilizers 6 is formed by a drawing process, the circumference edges thus being rounded, and forming bent areas 6B and 6C. As a result, even if the terminal fitting 1 is pulled out of a terminal housing chamber, the wall faces of the terminal housing chamber are not damaged by sharp edges, as is the case with a flat prior art stabilizer. Several embodiments are disclosed.

Terminal fitting and waterproof connector

A wiring member 20 is provided in a housing 10, has a round cross-section, and has integral tab shaped contact members 21 at the ends thereof. The wiring member 20 is bent into a specified shape before the contact members 21 are formed. The wiring member 20 is then fixed in a first moulding and encapsulated by insert moulding of a cover. Since the wiring member 20 is cross-sectionally round, it can be bent in any direction. Consequently, there is a high degree of freedom of design and the bending operation can be carried out easily. Further, as the process for forming the contact members 21 is carried out after the bending process, the accuracy is improved.

Insert moulded product and method of manufacture thereof

Retaining members are formed separately from a female connector housing and can be installed on the female connector housing. A sealing member is installed within the female connector housing prior to the installation of the retaining members. The sealing member includes protrusions having retaining portions, which protrusions are inserted into guide channels of the female connector housing without bending. Then, the retaining members are installed on the female connector housing, and two protrusions of the retaining members engage with the retaining portions from opposite sides, whereby the sealing member is retained against removal. When the sealing members are installed, the protrusions and retaining portions are not elastically deformed, and therefore resistance during installation is reduced, and the installation can be easily carried out.

A connector block for injectors of an internal combustion engine having a bar-like body in which bar-like bus bars are arranged in a parallel attitude and embedded in resin. A core member includes bus bar slots in which the bus bars are placed in a desired attitude. Projections are positioned such that they butt against the inner wall of a mold cavity of a mold for resin molding. Holding-pin holes into which holding pins of the mold cavity are fitted so as to form a separation layer between the bus bars and the holding pins. The assembled core member is inserted into the mold cavity of the mold for resin molding, to be held thereby, and the core member is embedded in a resin to form a desired shape.

A connector assembly having a receiving housing, a fitting housing and a retainer. The fitting housing is inserted into the receiving housing and is held in engagement position by the retainer. However, if one or more electrical terminals, within cavities in the fitting housing, is not fully inserted into its locked position, the retainer is held in a temporary position wherein a portion thereof projects outwardly of the fitting housing. This portion engages the end face of the receiving housing. The end face is preferably perpendicular to the insertion direction or at an acute angle thereto. As a result, the receiving housing does not distort even if excessive insertion force is applied to the fitting housing and/or the retainer.

Connector assembly

An inertia locking connector including elements which provide resistance to fitting the male and female connectors together. A consistent operating feel is obtained, even if the locking arm is released by the user. A resistance arm, independent of the locking arm, engages a rib of the male connector. A detent which is engaged by the locking arm is located on the same surface of the male connector as is the rib. The latter acts as a temporary stop for the resistance arm. Therefore, the user must exert substantial increased pressure to cause the resistance arm to flex out of contact with the leading edge thereof. As a result, the increased force builds momentum in the moving connectors so that the locking arm rides positively over the detent into its proper locking position.

Inertia locking connector

A pivoting member attached to a female housing, which is capable of receiving a complementary male housing. A resilient elastic member, preferably U-shaped, is disposed between an operating portion toward the rear of pivoting member and the female housing. The bend of the U-shape is positioned toward the pivot. The resilient member 50 is hidden behind the pivoting member and is located within the housing so that it does not get caught by parts of other connectors shipped with it in a single container.

In a card edge connector, rotating pins are formed on the inner surfaces of the side walls of a box-shaped outer housing, while cylindrical bearings are formed on the outer surfaces of the side walls of inner housings in which electrically conductive terminals are accommodated. The inner housings are swingably held with the rotating pins engaged with the cylindrical bearings. The cylindrical bearings have cut-outs in the cylindrical walls which are opened in the direction of insertion, so that, as the inner housings are pushed into the outer housing, the rotating pins are engaged with the cylindrical bearings through the cut-outs. The inner housings are urged by spring members in such a manner that the abutting parts of the terminals are moved away from terminals formed on the connecting end portion of a printed circuit board. When the connecting end portion of the printed circuit board starts to enter the outer housing is started, the connecting end portion gently touches the abutting parts of the terminals. When the connecting end portion is fully pushed into the outer housing, introducing cams, which are formed on a hood surrounding the connecting end portion, cause the inner housings to swing towards the connecting end portion, so that the terminals are positively pushed against the abutting parts.

Card edge connector

A projected portion 7 extending in a lengthwise direction of a tab portion 6 and having a given width is formed in a central section of one layer of the tab portion 6 where there is no seam before the tab portion is formed by folding back lateral sections to overlie the central section. The tab portion 6 is allowed to have a specified thickness by the presence of the projected portion 7. The tab portion 6 thus formed enables the fabrication of a more light-weight male terminal fitting at reduced costs and an increase in its strength.

Male terminal fitting and method of producing the same

A card edge connector includes inner housings that accommodate electrically conducting terminals. The inner housings are rotatably supported within a box-like outer housing. A rotatable range is regulated by projected portions of the respective housings being abutted against each other, so that an opening of the outer housing is kept open to allow an end portion of a printed board to be inserted. In addition, the terminals do not come in contact with each other, so that the circuit is kept from being shorted. When the insertion of the end portion into the outer housing is started, the upper inner housing rides over the end portion slightly. However, as the end portion is further inserted to the depth of the outer housing, introducing cams formed on a hood enclosing the end portion cause the upper inner housing to rotate with a slight insertion force, thereby causing the terminals to be urged into full engagement with the end portion of the printed board.

Card edge connector and method for connecting same

A connector including a locking mechanism to prevent a charge coupling from being broken when charging. A supply connector connected to a power source and a vehicle battery connector installed in an electric vehicle has a handle grip and a connector body attached to a distal end of the handle grip. The handle grip is provided in its interior with a lock mechanism which maintains and releases the coupling of the supply connector to the vehicle inlet and with a control which controls the lock mechanism. The control includes a detector for detecting a complete coupling of the supply connector to the vehicle connector. The control actuates the lock mechanism only when the detector detects the complete coupling and commencement of charging and releases the lock mechanism only when charging is stopped.

Charge connector for electric vehicles

A metal elements-resin insert is produced by holding metal elements such as conductive bus bars 8 and the like in a forming cavity 5 of a mold assembly 3, 4 by a support pin 6 projecting in the mold assembly 3, 4. The metal elements 8 embedded in a resin material can overcome problems of corrosion and electrical short-circuit in which the metal elements contact with air or moisture entering through drawn holes 7 formed by support pin 6 into the resin material and can improve the moisture and air proof function. The resin insert is produced by: predeterminately forming preformed portions 13 which embed a main portion of the metal elements 8 in a resin material 1 and have a support pin aperture 7 which does not reach the metal elements 8 and adapts to receive a top end of the support pin 6 and have a positioning protrusion 15 which adapts to contact with the inner wall of the forming cavity 5; inserting the metal elements 8 with the preformed portions 13 into the forming cavity 5 so that the preformed portions 13 are pinched in the cavity between the support pin 6 received in the support pin aperture 7 and the positioning protrusion 15; and pouring a molten resin material into the forming cavity 5 so that the metal elements with the preformed portions are embedded in the resin material 1.

This invention prevents lowering of working efficiency and an abnormal deformation, a breakage and the like of conductive terminals upon coupling a printed circuit base plate to a card edge connector in a card edge connector assembly. When a card edge connector 10 is inserted into an mouth 4 in a base plate holder 1, sliding edge portions 27 ride on ramp faces 5a on ribs 5 to pivot a pair of inner housings 20. Then, contacting portions 22a of first terminals 22 engage with second terminals on opposite sides of a printed circuit base plate 2. The printed circuit base plate 2 enters smoothly between the contacting portions 22a without causing an elastic deformation in the portions 22a and gouging the plate 22 due to their contact.
