A system is provided that enables communications between a driver of a vehicle and a person outside the vehicle, between a rider of a motorcycle and a fellow rider of the same vehicle, or between a driver of a vehicle and another driver of another vehicle. A Bluetooth communication system comprises a Bluetooth communication device mountable to a helmet, and an indicator unit having an indicator disposed in a viewing range of a driver of such a vehicle as a car or a boat. It further comprises a transmitting module disposed in the Bluetooth communication device for transmitting an indication signal to the indicator in response to reception of a calling signal and a receiving module disposed in the indicator unit for driving the indicator in response to reception of the indication signal. The indicator indicates when a call arrives at a Bluetooth communication device mounted on a helmet.

Bluetooth communication system for drivers of vehicles

A transmission-side cellular phone sends, via a mail server, to a reception-side cellular phone a face image and its attribute information as an attachment to an email. The reception-side cellular phone extracts the face image from the email, selects face part images from among a plurality of face part images stored in the face part storing section, combines the face image and the selected face parts, and displays the combined image. The reception-side cellular phone selects the face part images based on, for example, a number of times a telephone call from a person was not attended in a predetermined period.

A portable terminal reading text, such as predetermined information sent as an electronic mail message, and/or viewable by using a browser in a convenient or user-friendly manner for a visually-impaired user. The portable terminal executes operations including, reading out a first information; reading out a second information; and selectively switching between reading out the first and second information based on information to be read out. Specifically, the DSP is configured to read out a text sentence using a downloaded read-out in voice program. The sound source LSI which possesses a built-in ADPCM (Adaptive Differential Pulse Code Modulation) function is configured to vocally output a depressed numeric key by using a registered vocabulary. The DSP functions as a voice codec during a telephone conversation using a downloaded voice codec program. Thus, the DSP of the portable terminal is a dual-function type having a read-out in voice function and a voice codec function.
