A fuse unit comprising a resin housing formed by insulator, a circuit body formed by conductor, molded integrally with the resin housing and branching and transferring electricity from a power source side to a load side, and a fusible body provided on the circuit body and fusing at overcurrent to the load side; the circuit body is formed by a block side circuit body connected to the power source side, and a block side terminal body connected to the load side, a block side first connection end to which one side of the fusible body is detachably connected is formed on the block side circuit body, and a block side second connection end to which the other side of the fusible body is detachably connected is formed on the block side terminal body.

Fuse unit

A distribution terminal for a wire-type fusible link is provided. The distribution terminal includes: an electrically-conductive metal plate having a fixing hole formed therethrough so as to be fastened to a battery terminal bolt; and a plurality of press-clamping barrels formed on the metal plate and provided corresponding respectively to a plurality of wire-type fusible links, each of the press-clamping barrels having a press-fastening leg for being press-clamped to a fusible conductor of the corresponding wire-type fusible link.

A housing body contains the fuse body therein. The fuse body is formed with an opening and a retaining projection arranged in the vicinity of the opening. A cover body is formed with a locking piece adapted to engage with the retaining projection so that the cover body closes the opening. A rigidity-reduced portion is formed in the cover body, so that the cover body can be flexed substantially without flexing the locking piece, at least when the locking piece engages with the retaining projection.

Fuse

A large current fuse which comprises a metallic fusing member and a resin housing , the metallic fusing member including a first conductive plate , a second conductive plate , and a fusing part , the resin housing having an open space through which the fusing part is exposed, the first conductive plate being provided at its side face with a first projecting piece projecting by way of an edge of the open space , the second conductive plate being provided at its side face with the second projecting piece projecting by way of the edge of the open space , a width D of the first projecting piece in a direction perpendicular to its projecting direction and a width D of the second projecting piece in a direction perpendicular to its projecting direction being of a fixed size, irrespective of the rated current. The large current fuse which does not require the respective molding dies exclusively according to the rated currents is provided.

Large current fuse

A power shut-off connector has contact terminals,coming into sliding contact with a moving pin,, a mating portion,and a retaining member,of the moving pin, an urging member,and a driving member (solenoid),with respect to the moving pin. One side of a locking member,as a retaining member is coupled to the plunger,of a solenoid,and the other side is pivotally supported with a bracket,and besides the locking member is mated with the mating portion. The solenoid,is provided with a second plunger,symmetrically and by coupling a second locking member,to the plunger,, the plunger may be mated with the second mating portion,of the moving pin,. In place of the locking member,, the plunger,may be pulled by means of a weight and a folded wire. A mating portion,is provided at the leading end of the moving pin,, and the locking member,and a bracket are disposed on the projecting side of the moving pin so as to dispose the solenoid on the side of the moving pin. The locking member is provided with a plastic tip,. A housing portion for housing a coil spring,is provided in the moving pin.

Power shut-off connector

A forced-fusion fuse has a casing, a heat generating material within the casing, a resistance wire for inducing a heat generation reaction to occur in the heat generating material, and a fusion member that is fused by the generation of heat from the heat generating material. When some damage or other has been caused to a wire harness or there is the fear that an impairment will occur therein as when the wire harness has been slight short-circuited, some abnormality or other has occurred in a load connected to the wire harness, or an automobile has collided with another automobile, the sensor unit senses this to thereby output an abnormality detection signal. A controller, upon receipt of the abnormality detection signal, causes the generation of heat in the resistance wire of the forced-fusion fuse. A heat generation reaction is induced, by the generation of heat in the resistance wire, to occur in the heat generating material, whereby the fusion member is fused by the heat generated from the heat generating material.

Forced-fusion fuse and circuit breaker

A fuse includes a fuse element having a pair of terminal portions interconnected by a fusible portion, pivot pawls provided between the fusible portion and each of the terminal portions, seat surfaces respectively supporting the pivot pawls thereon, thereby holding the fuse element within an insulating housing, and pivotal movement-allowing spaces for allowing two portions of the fuse element, separated from each other when the fusible portion is melted, to be pivotally moved about the pivot pawls inside and outside the insulating housing.

Fusible link

In the metal piece 32 which diffuses into the fuse element so that an alloy layer is generated, there is formed an expanding slot 30, which is inserted and pressured in the fusing portion 25b of the fusible body 25 which forms the fuse element. Due to the foregoing, the metallic mass 32 of low fusing point is fixed to the fusible body 25 while it surrounds the circumferential surface of the fusing portion 25b.

Current limiting fuse having a non-directional fusing characteristic

A fusible link includes a housing which is made of insulating resin, the housing has an opening through which a fuse element is inserted into the housing, a fuse element having a pair of connecting terminal sections and a fusible body connected between the connecting terminal sections, and a lid of insulating resin which covers the opening of the housing while engaging with the housing. In the fusible link, the lid has resilient protruded pieces which are extended downwardly from the inner surface of the lid, and pressed against the fuse element so that the fused ends of the fuse element are away from each other when the fusible body is fused, thereby to positively prevent the occurrence of secondary short-circuiting of the fused ends.

To effectively prevent the efflux at the time of depositing a fusible metal, a fuse includes a clamping piece in the longitudinal middle portion of a fusible element, a fusible metal having a low melting point is clamped by and deposited on the clamping piece, in which the fusible metal is deposited on the fusible element while parts of the fusible metal exposed when fusible metal is clamped with the clamping piece, are covered with enclosing walls that are formed by bending the fusible element on both sides of the clamped part to the sides of the fusible metal.

Fuse and method of manufacturing same

A method of forming a chain of fuse-links made from an electrically conductive metal plate. Each fuse-link P4 has an arc-shaped fusing portion 1 and a couple of terminal portions 4, 4 constituting a pair of wing-shaped members connected to each end of the arc-shaped fusing portion 1. A carrier strap 9 has a plurality of vertical connecting pieces 8 each positioned at fixed intervals for retaining the plurality of fuse-links P4. Each of a plurality of interconnection pieces 7' is connected to the vertical connecting piece 8 at one end and connected to a side edge of specific side one of the couple of terminal portions at the other end. The other end of the interconnection piece 7' is bent so that the end edges of the couple of terminal portions 4, 4 rise above the carrier strap 9.

Method of forming a chain of fuse-links

A slowly-breaking fuse includes a housing made of a synthetic resin, a fuse element including a pair of terminal members for an electrical connection, and a melting member mounted between the terminal members, the melting member being smaller in thickness than the terminal member, the melting member having a narrow elongated central portion and a pair of base portions between which the narrow elongated central portion is mounted, and a cross-sectional area increased member provided at an opposite end of the melting member.

Method of making a slowly-breaking fuse

A fuse element which includes a substantially beltlike fusible body for electrically connecting a pair of connecting terminal portions to each other, the connecting terminal portions connected to an electric circuit, a low-melting-point metal piece clamped and fixed onto a melting metal adding portion arranged on the fusible body in order to adjust a fusion characteristic of the fusible body, and a pair of clamping pieces formed to extend outward from both side edges of the melting metal adding portion of the fusible body for clamping and fixing the low-melting-point metal piece set on the melting metal adding portion from both sides of the low-melting-point metal piece, in which the pair of clamping pieces have projections for holding the low-melting-point metal piece in press contact with each other by projecting into a space defined by a width of the melting metal adding portion when the clamping pieces are upwardly bent from both sides of the melting metal adding portion.
