An optical microscope apparatus selectively arranges a plurality of optical elements in an optical path, and includes: a manual switch unit capable of manually switching any of the plurality of optical elements; a detection unit detecting an arrangement status of manually switched optical elements; a storage unit storing information relating to the arrangement of the plurality of optical elements for each observing method; and an arrangement control unit arranging the plurality of optical elements according to the detection result by the detection unit and the information stored in the storage unit.

An optical element change-over control apparatus is provided that has an optical element change-over member capable of holding a plurality of optical elements and rotating alternatively to locate a specific optical element on an optical path. A control element drives a driving element to rotate the optical element change-over member and counts positioning signals delivered from a positioning detecting element during a time interval that elapses from the instant that a point of origin of the optical element change-over member is first detected by an origin detecting element until the point of origin of the optical element change-over member is secondly detected by the origin detecting element, thereby detecting the number of change-over stages of the optical element change-over member.

An optical element switching device is provided wherein a plurality of optical elements are held by a guide mechanism for guiding them to move straight or rotate and arranged on a turret, and positioned by a positioning part comprising a spring for pushing a ball into V grooves formed at a rotarys shaft of the turret rotated by a first motor wherein, a selected one of the optical elements is stopped in an optical path (i.e. an optical axis of objectives), and wherein the optical element is moved by a second motor along a direction in which it is guided by the guide mechanism, so that corrections such as adjustment of the contrast and the like are automatically executed at switching operations.

An objective lens switching device of the present invention is a device in which assembly and adjustment in order to correctly position each objective lens on an optical axis are easy and a switching action can quickly be performed with certainty without receiving an influence of a mounting condition of objective lenses or a change in the revolver over time in use. A CPU reads an angular displacement from an angle sensor from a revolution position of a turret outside a detection range of an engagement sensor and issues a command of start braking to a driver when the angular displacement reaches a predetermined given angle. A revolution position of the turret at which the CPU starts the braking is correctly set all the time since the detection range of the engagement sensor and an engagement position of the turret are correctly adjusted.

Objective lens switching device

A driving device for a multipolar type linear DC motor using a PWM (pulse width modulation) driving signal for driving a linear DC motor by causing an excitation coil of the motor, placed in alternating fields, to generate an induction field, and switching polarities of the induction field. The device includes a magnet polarity detecting circuit for detecting a direction of a magnetic field acting on the excitation coil in the alternating fields, an electric filter for removing an output signal output from the magnet polarity detecting circuit and having the same period as a PWM drive period, and polarity switching control circuit for controlling a direction and generation time of an induction field generated by the excitation coil in accordance with an output signal from the magnet polarity detecting circuit.
