A rotating member such as a sprocket to be coupled with a shaft is formed with a fitting bore which extends on the center axis and opens at at least one of its axial end portions. The rotating member is arranged in and rotatably held by a case such that its fitting bore opens toward the outside of the case. The shaft is inserted into and coupled with the fitting bore held in the case such that it can rotate integrally with the rotating member. This rotating member is formed with an air communication portion for providing communication between the inside and outside of the fitting bore and equipped with a valve for opening or closing the air communication portion. The valve may be opened in response to the rise or drop in the internal pressure of a fitting bore, by the pressure of the shaft or by a centrifugal force. With the valve being closed, lubrication oil in the case is prevented from leaking. When the valve is opened, on the other hand, the air in the fitting bore is released, or the atmospheric air is introduced into the fitting bore. As a result, the insertion or extraction of the shaft is prevented from being obstructed even with fluctuations in the internal pressure of the fitting bore.

Coupling structure for a rotating member and a shaft

A belt type continuously variable transmission system which includes: a fluid coupling device for transmitting an output from an engine by use of fluid; a belt type continuously variable transmission device for transmitting an output from the fluid coupling device at a continuously variable transmission gear ratio through a belt; an auxiliary transmission device having a function of shifting an output from the belt type continuously variable transmission device in accordance with the forward reverse running conditions; a reduction gear device for reducing an output from the auxiliary transmission device; and an oil pump device for feeding the hydraulic pressures to various hydraulic pressure components such as a valve body and the like wherein the various devices are connected to one another while preventing the various devices from interfering with one another, whereby proper functions of the various devices are satisfactorily performed and the transmission system as a whole can be made simplified in construction and be compact in size.

Belt type continuously variable transmission system

A control device for a continously variable belt transmission device, including driving and driven pulley assemblies with an endless belt assembly fitted in a power transmitting manner around them in V-shaped grooves thereof to provide power transmission therebetween at a speed change ratio, the driving and driven pulley assemblies having respective first and second pressure chambers, each of which according to supply of hydraulic fluid pressure to it alters the effective pulley radius of its pulley assembly. The control device supplies a line pressure to the second pressure chamber for the driven pulley assembly, and includes: a control pressure generating valve which generates a control pressure which decreases along with increase in the speed change ratio; a line pressure generating valve, which receives supply of the control pressure from the control pressure generating valve, and which generates the line pressure and supplies it to the second pressure chamber for the driven pulley assembly, this line pressure decreasing along with increase in the control pressure generated by the control pressure generating valve; and a cutoff valve which, when a sudden increase of the speed change ratio is required, prevents transmission of the control pressure from the control pressure generating valve to the line pressure generating valve. Thereby, in these circumstances of sudden speed change ratio increase, the line presure is made to be maximum, and accordingly is well able to power the driven pulley assembly, at its pressure chamber, to quickly alter the speed change ratio.

Hydraulic fluid pressure control device for a continuously variable

A continuously variable transmission (CVT) has input and output pulleys interconnected by a V-belt. The output pulley is actuated by a line pressure. A throttle pressure is increased as the position of an intake throttle valve arranged in an intake path is increased. A transmission-ratio pressure is decreased as the position of the intake throttle valve is increased. The transmission-ratio pressure is decreased in the region of smaller openings of the intake throttle valve more gently than in the region of larger ones. The line pressure is produced in relation to the throttle pressure and the transmission-ratio pressure.
