A sprung vibration suppression device for a vehicle includes a motor for generating torque to generate driving/braking force at the vehicle wheels and shock absorbers. The device calculates a target driving/braking force including a base requested driving/braking force requested for driving the vehicle and a damping driving/braking force necessary for sprung damping control and controls the driving/braking force output from the motor in accordance with the target driving/braking force. The device sets the damping driving/braking force to zero and increases the damping force generated by the shock absorbers when the base requested driving/braking force is within a rattling noise generation range set for determining whether there is a possibility that rattling noise is generated in the gear device.

Sprung vibration suppression device for vehicle

A travel support apparatus includes: a rear sensor that detects an obstacle behind a vehicle; and a rear contact prevention device that controls travel of the vehicle to prevent contact between the vehicle and the obstacle detected by the rear sensor as the vehicle backs up. The rear contact prevention device prevents contact between the vehicle and the obstacle detected by the rear sensor as the vehicle backs up, by performing first travel control to apply at least one of speed limitation and deceleration to the vehicle, without requiring an operation performed by a driver of the vehicle, and then performs second travel control to reduce an operation amount set in the first travel control.

Travel support apparatus

A radar sensor detects a traveling state of a host vehicle. An inter-vehicle control ECU gives the amount of operation for the predetermined amount of control of the host vehicle so that the traveling state of the host vehicle detected by the radar sensor becomes a predetermined state. The amount of operation given by the inter-vehicle control ECU is reduced as a kind of restriction when the amount of operation given by the inter-vehicle control ECU becomes equal to or larger than a predetermined value. As a result, it is possible to reduce the dependence of the driver on the device.

Drive assisting device

A parking assist device () includes a camera () for capturing an image of an exterior of a vehicle, and a monitor () for displaying the captured image, and sets a target parking position by moving a target parking frame () displayed on a screen of the monitor (). A default position of the target parking frame () is determined based on a target parking position (P) which is a relative position with respect to a parking preparation position (P). The target parking position (P) is estimated based on a running state of the vehicle until the vehicle reaches the parking preparation position (P).

Parking assist device and method for assisting parking

A parking assist system includes an image obtaining means for obtaining an image of a view from a vehicle, a displaying means for displaying the image obtained by the image obtaining means in a monitor display provided in the vehicle, an inputting means for inputting a target parking position, at which the vehicle is parked, on the monitor display, a detecting means for detecting a relative relationship between the vehicle and the target parking position, and a judging means for judging whether or not the vehicle can be parked at the target parking position based upon the relative relationship detected by the detecting means.

Parking assist system with image obtaining means and displaying means

In a parking assist apparatus that assists with moving, by automatic steering, a vehicle from an arbitrary stopping position to a target parking position set by the driver, a setting portion (i.e., a parking assist ECU) sets both a path from the stopping position to the target parking position and a steering operation necessary to bring the vehicle along that path. When this path cannot be set with the steering angle in the stopping position set as the initial steering angle, and when the path can be set with another steering angle as the initial steering angle, an instruction portion (i.e., a monitor or a speaker) instructs the driver to turn the steering wheel to this other steering angle.

Parking assist apparatus for vehicle and control method of same

According to a parking assist device and a method for assisting parking of the invention, when a parking assist is canceled after a start of the parking assist, and the parking assist is restarted, a target parking position (PB) is reset at a reset position (PB). In the invention, at this time, the target parking position (PB) is determined based on a target parking position (PA) which is set at a parking preparation position (PA), and the determined target parking position (PB) is displayed on a screen of a monitor () as a default display position of a target parking frame () at a reset time.

A vehicle traveling control system includes a control mode for controlling a vehicle speed by applying braking force so as to maintain the vehicle speed at a predetermined driving force threshold vehicle speed or smaller than that while a predetermined driving force beyond a creeping torque has been applied. The applied driving force is reduced when a target braking force required for maintaining the vehicle speed at the predetermined upper threshold vehicle speed or smaller than that is equal to a first predetermined value or greater than that. The applied driving force is increased when the target braking force or the actual braking force becomes a second predetermined value or smaller than that during the applied driving force being reduced.

A suspension control device for a vehicle equipped with suspension dampers variable of damping coefficient, including: a means for storing a group of schedules each having a plurality of information units for controlling the variation of the damping coefficient of the damper; a means for generating a new schedule by hybridizing more than one of the schedules selected from the group according to a predetermined genetic algorithm including mutation based upon a fictionalization that the schedules are living individuals each having the plurality of information units as a set of genes; a means for evaluating each of the schedules under current operation environment of the vehicle to determine the ranking of the schedules in the group in improving a predetermined performance of the suspension; a means for adopting a highest ranked schedule for controlling the damping coefficient of the damper; a means for deleting a lowest ranked schedule to keep the number of the schedules forming the group substantially constant; and a means for generating a control signal for controlling the damper based upon the highest ranked schedule.

A damping force control system for an automotive vehicle having a semiactive damper mechanism provided between an unsprung mass and a sprung mass of the vehicle, wherein vertical velocity of the sprung mass is detected so that switchover of the semiactive damper mechanism from a low damping state to a high damping state is permitted upon lapse of a predetermined time after it has been detected that an absolute value of the detected vertical velocity of the sprung mass exceeded a preselected magnitude of approximate zero.
