This intermediate grasping tool of a charging cable is mounted on a charging cable that extends from a charging stand, is provided with a cylindrical part which is hung on a hook provided on the charging stand and which is formed such that the charging cable passes through said cylindrical part, and is also provided with a gripping part which extends from the cylindrical part and is grasped. By means of such a configuration, charging operations can be performed while grasping the intermediate grasping tool of the charging cable with the hand that is not grasping the charging connector. In this way, the operability during charging can be improved.

Intermediate grasping tool of charging cable

A battery charger is provided on which power conversion components for converting commercial power to direct current (DC) power are mounted. The power conversion components include a power breaker for switching input alternate current (AC) power on/off, a power conversion circuit for converting the input AC power to a predetermined AC power, a voltage conversion circuit for converting the predetermined AC power to a predetermined voltage, and a rectifier circuit for converting the AC power that has been converted to the predetermined voltage to DC power. The power conversion components are mounted on a core frame, and an outer housing is mounted to the core frame in a manner so as to cover the core frame. The power breaker, the power conversion circuit, the rectifier circuit, and the voltage conversion circuit are mounted in this order to the core frame.

Battery charger

A battery charger on which power conversion components for converting commercial power to direct current power are mounted, includes a core frame formed into a C-letter shape in horizontal cross section. The components at least producing heat among the power conversion components are mounted on one side confined by a C-letter cross section of its both sides. An outer housing is attached to the core frame so as to cover the core frame, and a fan supplies cooling air to a region confined by the C-letter shaped cross section of the core frame.

A current transmitting system for use with a self-propelled automatically steered electric vehicle includes a pair of parallel, circularly arranged bus bars connected to a low-frequency A.C. power source, an induction cable extending along the bus bars and connected to a high-frequency A.C. power source, and a current collecting shoe slidable on and along each of the bus bars for transmitting the current carried by the bus bar to an electric device mounted in the vehicle. In this system, each of the bus bars is divided into two sections one of which is connected to the low-frequency A.C. power source through a coil.

Current transmitting system for electrical vehicle

A guide follower of a vehicle for a transportation system is coupled to an onboard steering linkage by a bendable cable or equivalent. The bendable cable is taut to transfer the guide following movement of the guide follower to the steering linkage and is relaxed to disconnect the movement transmitting connection between them.

Guide followable and manually steerable vehicle of a transportation

The disclosure relates to a dual-mode bus which is operable on a guideway under automatic control and also operable on ordinary surface streets or highways under the control by a bus driver. The dual-mode bus comprises a rear axle having at both ends thereof traction wheels, a frame supported on the axle and a current collector. A floating support is connected between a differential gear housing of the rear axle and the frame and has two spaced portions, first one of which is disposed nearer to the axle than second one of the two spaced portions thereof. An arm having two spaced portions is provided, first one and second one of which are connected to the first and second portions of the floating support, respectively. The arm carries the current collector at a third portion spaced on the same side as the first portion of the arm, from the second portion of the arm. The third portion is spaced, further than the first portion of said arm, from the second portion of the arm. Two parallel links having the same length pivotally interconnects the corresponding portions of the arm and the floating support and means is provided for selectively urging the collector on the arm to its extended operative position and moving the collector to its stored inoperative position.

Dual-mode bus

Guide track and vehicle construction for Dual-Mode Vehicle system. The vehicle is steered through junctions to a desired direction on the track by a hydraulic control system mounted on the vehicle and a mechanical control device provided on the guide track. Guide followers attached to the steering system of the vehicle ride within respective channels on opposite sides of the track. One or the other of the guide followers is held in the actuated position, i.e., engaged with the respective channel, to operate the hydraulic system for guiding the vehicle in the desired path on the track.

Transportation system and vehicles therefor

A vehicle adapted to travel over roads under the control of a driver operating a vehicle wheel control system or to be automatically steered along a guideway has a pair of guideway contacting wheels that control the steering when extended to a predetermined portion to contact the guideway and when retracted permit steering by the driver. A hydraulic control cylinder has oppositely disposed pistons connected by axially aligned piston rods to the respective guideway contacting wheels and movable to extend and contact these wheels. A mechanical linkage system is disposed, respectively, between one piston rod and the vehicle wheel control system.

Vehicle steering system

A first link member branched into two straight arms at a fixed angle is pivotally supported by the vehicle body at the branching point, and the free end of the first arm is linked with a connecting rod which in turn is connected to a steering arm for a road wheel while the free end of the second arm is pivoted to an end of a straight second link member which is equal to the second arm in length, the other end of which second link member is pivoted to a middle portion of a rod supporting at the ends thereof a pair of guide wheels. The rod is provided with means to move the rod relatively to the vehicle body thereby to retract the guide wheels and rotate the second link member until it forms no angle between the second arm.
