A hand tool includes a trigger manually operated by an operator, a tool body configured to movably support the trigger, a biasing member configured to generate a biasing force for biasing the trigger in a direction opposite to a operation direction of the trigger, and a contacting member operated by a biasing force of the biasing member to act on the trigger or tool body. The biasing member and the contacting member are assembled integrally with the tool body or the trigger.

A nailing machine includes a switch operating memberfor setting to switch respective modes of single striking and continuous striking, and pivot restricting mechanism for restricting a contact leverfor operating a valve stemof a start valvefrom being pivoted in cooperation with the switch operating memberset to switch to the single striking mode. By the pivot restricting mechanism, an amount of pivoting the contact leverat a position of operating to draw a middle of a trigger leverin the single striking mode is restricted, and a valve stemis maintained to maintain a state of operating to make the start valveON. Therefore, a reaction of the nailing machine in the continuous striking is reduced, further, dribble in the single striking mode is prevented from being brought about. In addition thereto, an erroneous operation in connecting an air chuck is prevented.

Nailing machine

A nail feeding mechanism is provided with a front feed claw () and a rear feed claw (). The rear feed claw () is provided with a contact portion () on a front side of a claw portion (). A face of the contact portion () to be brought into contact with connected nails is wider than a gap between nails in a width thereof and cannot enter between nails. When the front feed claw () is moved rearward and catches a final nail (TN) of a first row, the contact portion () and the claw portion () move into a nail path, the contact portion () enters between the final nail (TN) of the first row and a front nail (FN) of a second row and the claw portion () enters a rear side of the front nail (FN) of the second row. After feeding nails, the feed claw is moved rearward, the contact portion () and the claw portion () ride over side faces of the second row of connected nails (N) to return to escaping positions and the feed claw () is engaged with the front nail (FN) of the second row to continue nail feeding.

In stick type connected nails, connecting bands are glued to two portions, that is, upper ends and lower ends of shaft portions of nails which are arranged in parallel in an equidistant manner so as to connect the nails to each other. By providing the connecting bands at two portions, that is, the upper and lower portions, when plural sheets of connected nails are loaded in a multiple loading type nail magazine in a superposed manner, heads and distal end portions of the neighboring connecting nails are not entangled in a staggered manner. Hence, the smooth nail feeding can be realized.

Stick-type connected nails

In stick-type connected nails, connecting bands are glued to two portions, that is, upper ends and lower ends of shaft portions of nails which are arranged in parallel in an equidistant manner so as to connect the nails to each other. By providing the connecting bands at two portions, that is, the upper and lower portions, when a plural sheets of connected nails are loaded in a multiple loading type nail magazine in a superposed manner, heads and distal end portions of the neighboring connecting nails are not entangled in a staggered manner. Hence, the smooth nail feeding can be realized.

A supply mechanism for connected nails in a nailing machine is provided. The nailing machine includes a driver for driving the connected nail and a nose having a nail introduction portion and accommodating the driver. The supply mechanism includes a magazine and a pressing member. The magazine includes a nail guide surface connected to the nail introduction portion of the nose, and the nail guide surface has a corner portion on an upper end thereof for supporting nail heads of the connected nails. The pressing member is opposed to the nail guide surface of the magazine. The connected nails are stored in the magazine and held between the nail guide surface and the pressing member, and the connected nails contacted with the nail guide surface are supplied to the nose of the nailing machine.

A magazine includes a nail guide surface and a movable guide wall. The nail guide surface is linear and continuous to a nail introducing opening and has a shoulder for supporting the nail heads of a connected nail assembly. The movable guide wall is confronted with the nail guide surface. In the magazine, a plurality of connected nail assemblies are loaded and placed in side-by-side relation, while being in contact with each other, between the nail guide surface and the movable guide wall. The plurality of connected nail assemblies are pressed against the guide surface of the magazine by pressing members provided on the movable guide wall. The movable guide wall is turned, for opening and closing, between a position being confronted with the nail guide surface of the magazine and a position at which the nail guide surface is opened.

A screw driving machine in which a screw having a head is screwed into a work, includes: a body; a nose section positioned toward the work with respect to the body, the nose section holding the screw to be driven; a hammering mechanism accommodated in the body, for hammering the screw into the work until the head of the screw held above the work; a screwing mechanism for screwing the screw hammered into the work; a contact arm slidable with respect to the nose section, the contact arm being pulled in toward the body when the contact arm is pushed against the work; and a locking mechanism for prohibiting the contact arm from sliding in its half way when the contact arm is pushed against the work, and for releasing the contact arm from locking after the hammering mechanism hammers the screw into the work.

A screw driving and turning machine comprises: a body having a nose portion; a driving cylinder received in the body; a screw driving mechanism having a driving piston having a driving and turning bit slidably accommodated in the driving cylinder, wherein compressed air is fed into the driving cylinder to drive the driving piston, and a screw held in the nose portion of the body is driven to a state in which a head portion of the screw is raised; a screw turning mechanism having an air motor driven by a portion of compressed air fed to the driving cylinder, for turning the screw, which has been driven by the driving piston; a stop valve for opening and closing an air passage between the driving cylinder and the air motor, arranged in the middle of the air passage; and a contact arm slidably arranged along the nose portion, for operating the stop valve by being pushed to the body in accordance with pressing an end of the contact arm against a material into which the screw is driven, wherein the feed of compressed air from the driving cylinder to the air motor is stopped by closing the stop valve when the contact arm is pushed to a predetermined position by pressing an end of the contact arm against the material into which the screw is driven.

An exhaust mechanism of a pneumatic nailing in which a striking cylinder is accommodated in a body and a striking piston in the striking cylinder is driven to drive a nail when compressed air is supplied to and exhausted from an upper portion of the striking cylinder, comprises: an inner cap arranged in the upper portion of the striking cylinder; a cylinder cap covering the inner cap; an exhaust chamber formed along inside the body between the inner cap and the cylinder cap; and a throttle hole formed in a lower portion of the exhaust chamber, wherein the exhaust air exhausted from the upper portion of the striking cylinder is discharged from the throttle hole via the exhaust chamber.
