A press-fit terminal is provided with a press-fit portion including two contact pieces facing each other across an eye hole. Each of the two contact pieces includes a parallel portion in parallel to that of the other contact piece, a front spring portion and a rear spring portion. A thickness of the press-fit portion is 0.75 mm or more and 0.85 mm or less. When G[mm] and G[mm] denote cross-sectional secondary moment of area per unit length of the front spring portion and cross-sectional secondary moment of area per unit length of the rear spring portion for the press-fit portion, G+Gis 0.030 or more and 0.080 or less. Further, when θ denotes a gradient of the front spring portion with respect to an inserting direction of the press-fit portion, Gtan θ is 0.0024 or more and 0.0070 or less.

Press-fit terminal and connector device

A press-fit terminal inserted into through hole of a circuit board along insertion direction includes a base portion extending in insertion direction, distal end portion, and two deformable portions. The distal end portion is on a front side to base portion in insertion direction and includes distal end portion side corner portions. The two deformable portions connect base portion and distal end portion and are contacted with an inner wall of through hole and elastically deformed. The two deformable portions include deformable portion side corner portions and deformable portion side corner portions include outer deformable portion side corner portions on outer side in direction crossing insertion direction. The two deformable portions include easy deformable portions, in portions having outer deformable portion side corner portions with curved surfaces whose radius of curvature RL is greater than a radius of curvature RS of curved surfaces of distal end portion side corner portions.

Press-fit terminal

A board connector includes a plate-like fixing member () to be mounted in a housing () and including a board fixing portion () to be fixed to a circuit board () by solder. At least the board fixing portion () of the fixing member includes a plurality of plate pieces (A,B) arranged to face each other in a plate thickness direction. Plating layers () are formed on plate surfaces of the plate pieces (A,B) and plating drip layers () continuous with the plating layers () are formed on end surfaces of the plate pieces (A,B) intersecting with the plate surfaces.

A wire harness is constructed by bundling a plurality of electric wires in which conductors are surrounded with insulating coatings respectively. The electric wires are constructed of aluminum electric wires in which the conductors consist of aluminum or aluminum alloy and copper electric wires in which the conductors consist of copper or copper alloy. A plurality of the aluminum electric wires is disposed so as to surround the copper electric wires having a lower shape retention property than the aluminum electric wires. The bundles electric wires include bent portions formed by bending or curving the bundled electric wires respectively.

Wire harness

A terminal fitting () has a rectangular tube () for receiving a mating male tab (). A resilient contact () is formed in the rectangular tube () and can resiliently contact the male tab (). An excessive deformation preventing portion () is formed in the rectangular tube () for preventing deformation of the resilient contact () beyond a resiliency limit by contacting the resilient contact () being resiliently deformed. The terminal fitting () also has an extending portion () projecting out from an end edge of the rectangular tube portion () in a developed state before being bent and arranged at an outer side of the resilient contact () after being bent. The excessive deformation preventing portion () is formed by bending a part of the extending portion () into the interior of the rectangular tube ().

Terminal fitting

A terminal fitting has a resilient contact piece ( ) coupled to an inner ceiling wall ( ) via a resilient supporting piece ( ). The resilient contact piece ( ) is cantilevered back from the resilient supporting piece ( ) and then is bent forward. A portion of the resilient contact piece ( ) is resiliently deformable upward and downward with a folded portion ( ) as a center. The resilient contact piece ( ) is entirely displaceable along the longitudinal direction with the resilient supporting piece ( ) as a center. An auxiliary spring portion ( ) has a first and a second curves ( ) that project up and down immediately before the folded portion ( ) of the resilient contact piece ( ). The auxiliary spring portion ( ) can be elongated and contracted resiliently along the same direction.

A connector housing ( ) is provided to prevent a retainer ( ) from inadvertently moving from a partial locking position to a full locking position. The retainer ( ) can be held in a partial locking position where the retainer ( ) is located at a shallow insertion position in a hollow portion ( ) and permits the insertion and withdrawal of terminal fittings (T). The retainer ( ) also can be in a full locking position (P ) where the retainer ( ) is deeper in the hollow portion ( ) to lock the terminal fittings (T) so as not to come out of cavities. There are first and second partial locking positions (P and P ) of the retainer ( ) at different depths in an inserting direction. A holding force for partially locking the retainer ( ) in the housing main body ( ) is set larger in the first partial locking position (P ) than in the second partial locking position (P ) before the full locking position (P ).

Connector housing

A connector including an inner housing member for housing terminal fittings and an outer member for receiving the inner housing member. The inner housing member comprises upper and lower inner members. After terminal fittings have been attached to the upper and lower inner members, these inner members are joined to one another to form the inner housing member. An angular-tubular shaped housing chamber is provided at the posterior of an outer member for housing the inner housing member. The inner housing member is pushed into the housing chamber of the outer member to complete the assembly of the connector. The connector also includes a latch that prevents the inner and outer members from being easily released, and in which rattling or vibration of the upper and lower inner members is prevented.

Connector with upper and lower inner housing members

A blade type terminal fitting (,) has blades (,A,,B) which cut through wire insulation (,) to contact a wire core (,). To prevent widening of the blades (,A,,B) as the wire is pressed in, a jig (,) includes pressing members (,) to prevent outward movement of the blades (,A,,B). A more secure electrical connection is obtained.

Electrical connector housing with cavity and terminal fitting with insulation displacement contact blades and method of attaching a wire thereto

A pressure contact connector has inner members which cannot be inserted upside-down, and which has good operability. An inner member includes an upper and lower inner member. A tubular shaped inner housing chamber is provided at the posterior of an outer member, this inner housing chamber being capable of housing the inner member. Position-fixing grooves are formed in a concave manner at the posterior end of the inner housing chamber. When the inner member and outer member are to be attached, position fixing protrusions fit with the position-fixing grooves only when the inner member is in the correct orientation.

Pressure contact connector

To prevent deformation of lock portions and make a block connector smaller a dovetail-shaped lock groove 21 is formed at a front end of the upper surface of the lower housing 2 over the entire width, and a dovetail-shaped lock rib 22 which can be pressed into the lock groove 21 is formed on the lower surface of the upper housing 1. The lock rib 22 is divided into three divided ribs with clearances therebetween, and the projecting heights of the divided ribs differ. The lock groove 21 is formed to have a stepped shape. Recesses 32 which form jig insertion holes are so formed as to conform to the clearances of the lock rib 22. A rear locking mechanism is such that lock projections 30 are fitted into lock holes 29, and is relatively easily unlockable by rotating the front end of the upper housing 1. When the front ends of the upper and lower housings 1, 2 are disengaged by inserting a disengagement jig into the jig insertion hole, the lock rib 22 comes out of the lock groove while being guided by slanted side surfaces. If the front end of the upper housing 1 is subsequently rotated, the rear lock portion is also unlocked.

Block connector

To increase the accuracy of the slot dimension of a pressure contact terminal fitting, a pair of anteriorly and posteriorly located pressure contact blades 22 and 23, engage protrusions 26 and 27 formed in the terminal base. The position of the blades 22 and 23 is thus maintained against deformation loads.

A pressure contact electrical terminal (20) is formed by bending inwards upper ends of left and right side walls (21), a pair of left and right pressure contact blades (22) being provided anteriorly and posteriorly, and connected by means of a connecting arm (23). In this manner, when an external tensile force is applied to an electric wire W, a change in shape of the pressure contact blades (22) in the direction of the pulling force is avoided.

A connector in which the deformation of lock portions is prevented, and the connector can have a compact design, and housings are prevented from being displaced with respect to each other in both longitudinal and transverse directions. Transverse grooves of a dovetail shape are formed respectively in widthwise opposite ends of an upper surface of a lower housing at a front end portion thereof, and longitudinal grooves of a dovetail shape are formed in a widthwise central portion of this upper surface. Transverse ribs of a dovetail shape are formed respectively at widthwise opposite ends of a lower surface of an upper housing at a front end portion thereof, and longitudinal grooves of a dovetail shape are formed on a widthwise central portion of this lower surface. The transverse ribs are greater in projecting height than the longitudinal ribs. When the ribs are press-fitted respectively into the associated grooves, the two housings are locked together. When an external force of above a predetermined level is applied so as to separate the two housings from each other, the ribs are withdrawn respectively from the grooves, thereby disconnecting the two housings from each other.
