An apparatus that communicates with a screen display apparatus: a generation unit configured to generate image data to be displayed on a screen; an identification unit configured to identify an overlapping area that overlaps with the image data for each of a plurality of divided areas into which the screen is divided, respectively; a division unit configured to divide respective partial image data belonging to the respective overlapping areas in a vertical direction or a horizontal direction of the screen; a data compression processor configured to compress respective divided image data belonging to the respective divided areas by using dictionary data obtained based on a predetermined amount of divided image data compressed in the past belonging to the respective divided areas; and a data transmission unit configured to transmit respective compressed image data belonging to the respective divided areas in an order defined according to a rule given in advance.

According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided with a screen transmission device, including: a first receiver configured to receive usage state information indicating usage states of a plurality of screen display devices by a user from each the screen display device; a second receiver configured to receive a message of requesting start-up of a window from the screen display device out of the screen display devices; a determiner configured to determine a screen display device on which the window is to be started up out of the plurality of screen display devices based on the usage states of each the screen display device; a screen data generator configured to generate screen data of the window; and a transmitter configured to transmit the screen data of the window to the screen display device determined by the determiner.

There is provided with a method performed in an image transmission apparatus capable of executing first communication and second communication whose communication speed is lower than that of the first communication with a display apparatus, including: generating an image to be displayed on the display apparatus; detecting whether the first communication is executable or not; transmitting the generated image to the display apparatus via the first communication when the first communication is executable; transmitting a compressed image obtained by compressing the generated image to the display apparatus via the second communication when the first communication is not executable; and transmitting compression utilization information required to display the compressed image on the display apparatus to the display apparatus via at least one of the first communication and the second communication when the first communication is executable.
