A stator of a rotating armature is provided which has: a stator core comprising laminated electromagnetic steel plates, the stator core including a plurality of teeth and slots formed on an inner periphery thereof; a first insulator and a second insulator inserted in the stator core; and windings wound around the teeth, wherein the first insulator includes a first comb-like engagement portion placed in the slots, the second insulator includes a second comb-like engagement portion placed in the slots, the first comb-like engagement portion includes a first tapered shape formed on a first distal end portion thereof, the second comb-like engagement portion includes a second tapered shape and a third tapered shape formed each on either side of a second distal end portion thereof in a radial direction of the stator core, and the first end portion and second distal end portion overlap with each other in the radial direction.

A bearing holder mounting structure which allows a motor to be manufactured with a small number of parts without needing complex processing, and such motor are provided. A rotorhaving a pair of bearingsA andB and a washermounted thereon is inserted into an opening portionof a motor housingsuch that a rotor memberof the rotoris received in a receiving concave portion. A bearing holderis disposed on a bottom wall portionof a fitting recessed portionsuch that a flange portionof the bearing holderabuts on the bottom wall portionof the fitting recessed portion. A retaining fittingis then pressed into the fitting recessed portionsuch that six engaging piecesare located at positions slightly deviated from positions of six lead-out groove portions. With this arrangement, leading endsof the six engaging piecesare bitten in an inner peripheral wall portionof the fitting recessed portiondue to resilient force by which the six engaging piecesreturn to an original state from a warped state.

Electric motor

A motor, in which a creep phenomenon can be prevented and a ball bearing can readily be mounted, is provided. A pair of end brackets each have a bearing hole in which a ball bearing is fitted. A pair of ball bearings are fitted into the bearing holes of the end brackets such that an outer race portion of each ball bearing may abut on a first wall surface and a second wall surface of the end bracket. A stopper fitting is pushed into a recessed portion of the end bracket until a ring portion of the stopper fitting abuts on the outer race portion of the ball bearing. Six engaging pieces of the stopper fitting are engaged in a fourth wall surface defining the recessed portion due to a restoring force of the engaging pieces, which have been resiliently bent or warped, to restore from the bent or warped state. Thus, each ball bearing is tightly fixed in the bearing hole by means of the stopper fitting.
