A recording method includes an adhesion step of ejecting an ink composition from an ink jet head to be adhered to a recording medium; and a primary heating step of heating the adhered ink composition, and the adhesion step includes at least one main scanning in which while a relative position of the ink jet head and the recording medium is changed in a main scanning direction, the ink composition is adhered to the recording medium and at least one sub-scanning in which the relative position of the ink jet head and the recording medium is changed in a sub-scanning direction. In the recording method described above, the number of the main scannings performed on the same recording region of the recording medium is 5 or less, the ink composition is a water-based ink containing a pigment, a resin, and an organic solvent, and in a chart of logarithmic attenuation with temperature obtained by measurement of the ink composition using a rigid-body pendulum characteristics test, the ink composition has a temperature of a first thickening peak of 30° C. to 65° C. and a temperature of a maximum thickening peak of 70° C. or more.

Recording method and ink jet recording apparatus

An ink set includes a non-white ink composition and a white ink composition, and the non-white ink composition and the white ink composition are each an aqueous ink jet ink. The non-white ink composition contains a silicone-based surfactant A having a maximum peak within a molecular weight range of 3,000 to 20,000 within a molecular weight range of 300 or more in a molecular weight distribution in gel permeation chromatography, and the white ink composition contains a silicone-based surfactant B having a HLB value of 10.5 or less by Griffin method, but not having a maximum peak within a molecular weight range of 3,000 or more within a molecular weight range of 300 or more in a molecular weight distribution in gel permeation chromatography.

Ink set and recording method

A recording method is a method including an adhesion step of adhering an ink composition to a recording medium, in which the recording medium is a low-absorbing recording medium or a non-absorbing recording medium, the adhesion step is performed by scanning that is carried out by jetting the ink composition from an ink jet head to make the ink composition adhere to the recording medium while moving relative positions of the ink jet head and the recording medium, the scanning is performed seven times or less on an identical region of the recording medium, the ink composition is an aqueous ink containing a coloring material and a silicone-based surfactant A, and a maximum peak of the silicone-based surfactant A in a molecular weight range of 300 or greater is present in a range of 3000 to 20000 in a molecular weight distribution obtained by gel permeation chromatography.

Recording method

An ink composition is used for recording on a low-absorbing recording medium or a non-absorbing recording medium and is an aqueous ink jet ink containing a pigment, and the ink composition includes 1.2 to 2.9 percent by mass of an amine with respect to a total mass of the ink composition, and an organic solvent other than an amine. The organic solvent includes an organic solvent having a standard boiling point of 150° C. to 250° C. in an amount of 5 to 30 percent by mass with respect to the total mass of the ink composition, and the organic solvent having a standard boiling point of 150° C. to 250° C. includes a diol having a water mixture viscosity of 3.0 mPa·s or more.

Ink composition and recording method

An ink jet ink composition is a water-based ink that contains at least one pigment and at least one resin and is for use in recording on a low- or non-absorbent recording medium. The ink composition contains at least one water-soluble low-molecular-weight organic compound that has a melting point of 30° C. or above and is any of an amide, sulfur-containing compound, or cyclic ether, and the low-molecular-weight organic compound constitutes 10% by mass or less of the total mass of the ink composition. The ink composition also contains at least one organic solvent that is a diol having a melting point of 25° C. or below, and the organic solvent constitutes a higher percentage than the low-molecular-weight organic compound.

Ink jet ink composition and recording method

An ink set includes an ink composition and a treatment liquid composition. Each of the ink composition and the treatment liquid composition is used for printing by being applied onto a printing medium by an ink jet method. The ink composition is a water-based composition containing a coloring material and a surfactant. The treatment liquid composition is a water-based composition containing a flocculant and a surfactant. Any one of the ink composition and the treatment liquid composition contains a nitrogen-containing solvent. Each of the surfactant contained in the ink composition and the surfactant contained in the treatment liquid composition includes a silicone surfactant whose 0.1 mass % aqueous solution has a surface tension of 32 mN/m or less. Any one of the surfactant contained in the ink composition and the surfactant contained in the treatment liquid composition includes a silicone surfactant whose 0.1 mass % solution in a nitrogen-containing solvent has a surface tension of 32 mN/m or less.

An aqueous ink jet ink composition according to the present embodiment is an aqueous ink jet ink composition for use in an ink jet recording method that includes ejecting ink from an ink jet head. The ink jet head includes nozzles that have a side wall surface, and the side wall surface has a scalloped shape in which a scallop width S1 and a notch depth S2 satisfy S1/S2&#x2265;4. Aqueous ink jet ink composition and ink jet recording method

An ink jet recording method includes: a treatment liquid adhesion step of adhering a treatment liquid containing an aggregating agent to a recording medium; an ink adhesion step of adhering an aqueous ink composition containing a colorant to the recording medium by ejection thereof from an ink jet head; a first heating step of heating the recording medium to which the treatment liquid and the aqueous ink composition are adhered to a first surface temperature by a first heating mechanism; a second heating step of heating the recording medium after the first heating step to a second surface temperature which is higher than the first surface temperature by a second heating mechanism provided at downstream than the first heating mechanism in a recording medium transport direction; and a cooling step of, after the first heating step and before the second heating step, cooling the recording medium by a cooling mechanism, and by the cooling step, a surface temperature of the recording medium is decreased to a temperature lower than the first surface temperature.

Ink jet recording method and ink jet recording apparatus

An ink jet recording method includes a treatment liquid attachment step, in which a treatment liquid containing a flocculant is attached to a recording medium, and an ink attachment step, in which an ink composition containing a pigment and resin particles is attached to the recording medium by ejecting the ink composition from an ink jet head. When the ink composition is mixed in a 1:1 ratio by mass with a 6% by mass aqueous solution of magnesium sulfate heptahydrate, the volume-average diameter of particles in the mixture is from 2000 to 6000 nm.

Ink jet recording method, ink jet recording apparatus, and ink set

An ink set includes a first ink and a second ink which are water-based ink compositions, in which each of the first ink and the second ink includes a pigment and resin including resin particles, the first ink includes a first pigment and the second ink includes a second pigment different from the first pigment, the first ink and the second ink are mixed with a 5% by mass water-based solution of magnesium sulfate heptahydrate to increase a volume average particle diameter of the ink and a difference in the volume average particle diameter for the inks in the inks after mixing is 40% or less, and the ink set is used for recording together with a treatment liquid including an aggregating agent for aggregating the components of the water-based ink compositions.

According to the invention, there is provided a recording method which includes adhering an ink composition to a recording medium, and adhering a reaction liquid to the recording medium, the reaction liquid containing water and a reagent for aggregating or thickening components of the ink composition, and having a pH of 7 to 10. In the adhering of the reaction liquid, an epoxy-based adhesive is used for at least a portion of a reaction liquid passage for supplying the reaction liquid to an ink jet head, and a member in contact with the reaction liquid in the ink jet head, and the reaction liquid is discharged from the ink jet head so as to adhere to the recording medium.

Recording method and recording apparatus

An ink jet recording method includes attaching ink by ejecting an ink composition from a head to attach to a recording region of a recording medium, and drying by heating the recording medium to which the ink composition is attached, in which the ink composition is a water-based ink composition including a resin and an amide compound represented by General Formula (1) as an organic solvent, and the drying dries the organic solvent in the recording region of the recording medium to be 2.0 mg/inchor less. Aqueous ink jet ink composition, ink jet recording method, and ink jet recording apparatus

A recording method is provided including: discharging and adhering a reaction liquid to an ink non-absorbable or ink low-absorbable recording medium in a form of a droplet, by using an ink jet method, the reaction liquid containing a reagent for aggregating or thickening of a colored ink composition; and adhering a colored ink composition to the recording medium to which the reaction liquid has adhered. The recording medium is heated before adhering the colored ink composition to the recording medium, a period from when adhering of the reaction liquid is ended until adhering of the colored ink composition is started is within 30 seconds, and a surface temperature of the recording medium from the adhering of the reaction liquid to the adhering of the colored ink composition is equal to or lower than 38&#xb0; C.

An aqueous ink jet ink composition includes resin fine particles, a non-ionic surfactant, a resin dissolving solvent, and water, in which, in the aqueous ink jet ink composition, a total acid value of an acid value of the resin fine particles and an acid value of the dispersant resin when the aqueous ink jet ink composition includes a dispersant resin is 200 (mg KOH/100 g ink) or less.
