A wiring device and method that control an amount of power delivered to a load, which maintain function even if a line connection and a load connection are reverse wired. Designed circuitry comprising steering diodes in both a line and a load wire direct a power source to an AC/DC power supply. The wiring device comprises a housing, a line terminal nominally designated for receiving electrical power from a power source, a load terminal nominally designated to feed electricity to a load, a neutral terminal, a line wire electrically connected to the line terminal, a load wire electrically connected to the load terminal, and a means for controlling an amount of power delivered to the load. Embodiments of the present invention include automated universal lighting controls, dimers, timers, and wired lighting devices.

Wiring device with reversible line load connections

A vehicle having a horn and a light includes an alarm system secured to a ceiling of the vehicle. The alarm system includes a housing secured to the ceiling; a computer carried within the housing and in data communication with a thermal imaging sensor configured to determine if a party is left behind after the driver leaves the vehicle; a transceiver operably associated with the computer; and a mobile device operably associated with the transceiver. The method to notify a driver and/or third party if a party is left behind in a vehicle includes determining if the party is left behind via the thermal imaging sensor; and wirelessly notifying driver that the party has been left behind.

An apparatus includes a housing fixed adjacent to a door having a hinge, a rotating arm rotatable about the housing and biased toward the door, and a transmitter electronically coupled to the rotating arm, wherein the transmitter broadcasts a position of the door.

Door sensor

Each of a flange and an end cap have at least two magnets or magnetic pieces arranged in complementary fashion to removably attached the end cap to the flange. The end cap removably seals an orifice of the flange by magnetic attraction between the at least two magnets or magnetic pieces of the end cap and the at least two magnets or magnetic pieces of the flange. This seal between the end cap and flange provides for pressure relief as pressure from within the orifice exceeds the force of magnetic attraction between the magnets or magnetic pieces of the end cap and the magnets or magnetic pieces of the flange.

Magnetic capping device and method

A device and method for connecting a cup and a lid includes a cup portion that has a lip, the lip extending from an outer circumference of the cup portion at an open end of the cup portion. The device has a lid portion and a collar portion. The collar portion engages with the lip, thereby holding the collar portion to the cup portion. A series of magnets and/or metal pieces couple magnetically attract the lid portion to the collar portion. As pressure within the cup portion increases beyond a predetermined point, the series of magnets and/or metal pieces partially disengage, thereby allowing escape of excess pressure.

Magnetically coupled humidifier components

A device and method for coupling two or more objects together has a coupling that has at least two magnets or metal pieces and is removably attached to a first object. A second object has at least two corresponding metal pieces or magnets, wherein the first object and the second object are held together by magnetically attractive forces when the first object and the second object are engaged.

Magnetic coupling device and method

An article and method for coupling two or more objects together uses magnetically attractive forces generated by corresponding magnet(s) and/or metal piece(s) positioned at or near the periphery of the two or more objects. A method of coupling the upper and lower section of a humidifier container used to humidify oxygen gas, using magnetic coupling means. A series of corresponding magnets around the container, located externally to the device or internally, secure the lower part or vessel to the upper part or cap. Using magnets opposing an attracted metal may he used in lieu of corresponding magnet to magnet attraction which requires the poles of the magnets be oriented with their poles to attract each other.

Magnetically coupled humidifier container components

A draw guide for a hunting bow is disclosed. Guide members are interposed between the bow and the string in order to support the arrow during the shooting process and to permit the string to pass therethrough during the aforementioned process. In this manner, the arrow is supported by the guide members during the shooting process while the string is permitted to pass therethrough thus allowing shorter arrows to be utilized.
