A method of social broadcasting is disclosed. A metadata is generated indicating items of content expected to be included in a broadcast and for each item of content a manner in which the item of content is to be included in the broadcast. The metadata is provided and at least a subset of said items of content to a broadcast platform in one or more network communications sent to the broadcast platform via a network interface. A metadata is received via a server interface indicating items of content expected to be included in a broadcast and for each item of content a manner in which the item of content is to be included in the broadcast. At least a subset of said items of content is stored in a media cache. Said items of content are used to assemble in the manner indicated by said metadata, and to provide as output for broadcast to the station interface, a broadcast stream, including by responding dynamically to subsequently received metadata indicating a change in one or both of (1) said items of content expected to be included in a broadcast and (2) the manner in which one or more of said items of content is or are to be included in the broadcast.

Zone-associated objects enable easier consumption of electronic media items that are presented to a user on a screen of a computing device. Zone-associated objects enable displaying electronic content on the screen of the computing device, the screen having multiple zones. Each object presented on the screen may be associated with one or more of the zones. The user may then select one of the multiple zones and, in response, may be allowed to select objects associated with that zone. Animations enhance viewing and consumption of electronic items that are presented to a user on a screen of a computing device. These animations may occur in response to receiving an instruction to move a position of a cursor displayed on the screen of the computing device. A user may trigger this instruction, for instance, by selecting a portion of the electronic content with use of the cursor. In response to the selection, the cursor or some other entity may undergo some form of animation. This animation may notify the user that the selection is being processed, and may also indicate a future position of the cursor at a time after the selection is processed.

A user interface for selection of a video clip in a video editing system includes a first control element, a first video window, a second control element, and a second video window. The first control element is positionable to select a starting frame of a video clip from a video data source. The first video window is operatively coupled to the first control element to display the starting frame of the video clip. The second control element is positionable to select an ending frame of the video clip. The second video window is operatively coupled to the second control element to display the ending frame of the video clip simultaneously with the display of the starting frame in the first video window. The first video window updates dynamically as the first control element is moved, and the second video window updates dynamically as the second control element is moved.

User interface for video editing

A method, system and program for creating an overview image display of an environment or series of images and a detail window into the overview image display. The detail window consists of a single frame of the overview image or some corresponding image to present additional detail of the selected portion of the overview image . Additional features include the ability to interactively reposition a pointer to select another detail window corresponding to another area of the overview image . Further capabilities are provided to store selective reference points as a user interactively selects the reference points and play them back at some user initiated later time. To aid the user, the interactive selections are identified by a series of area indicias left on the display.
