The present apparatus includes a placement tray to place sheets to undergo binding processing, and a press bind unit shifting along an end edge of sheets on the placement tray. The press bind unit includes a receiving tooth, and pressing teeth meshing with the receiving tooth to perform press binding on sheets nipped therebetween, and the pressing teeth are provided to shift between a press position for meshing with the receiving tooth, and a retract position spaced apart from the receiving tooth so as to shift the press bind unit along the end edge of sheets with the sheets disposed between the receiving tooth and the pressing teeth. By shifting the pressing teeth to the retract position, it is possible to shift the sheet bind apparatus smoothly along the end edge of a bunch of sheets with the sheets disposed between the receiving tooth and the pressing teeth.

Apparatus for processing sheets and apparatus for forming images provided with the apparatus

A sheet processing apparatus includes a transport path for transporting a sheet in a predetermined transport direction; a folding unit disposed along the transport path to perform folding processing on a sheet transported through the transport path; and a downstream-side unit disposed on a downstream side in the transport direction along the transport path to perform processing on a sheet transported from the folding unit. The folding unit includes a space section disposed at a lower side of the transport path for forming a cylindrical shape on a sheet; a transport roller disposed in the transport path to transport a sheet to the space section; and folding rollers to form a fold at a predetermined position on a sheet in which the cylindrical shape is formed. The space section is provided in a range of overlapping the downstream-side unit in a height direction orthogonal to the transport direction.

The present apparatus is provided with a placement tray (processing tray) to place sheets to undergo binding processing, and a bind unit that is able to shift along an end edge of sheets on the placement tray and that binds a plurality of sheets as a single bunch, where in the bind unit, a needle bind unit for performing binding processing on a bunch of sheets with a needle and a needleless bind unit for performing binding processing without a needle are provided together in a shift direction of the bind unit, and a length of the needleless bind unit is configured to be shorter than a length of the needle bind unit in the shift direction of the bind unit. By this means, provided is the apparatus capable of miniaturizing the entire apparatus, with the needle bind unit and needleless bind unit provided together.

The present sheet processing apparatus comprises: a pressure tooth part that has a concave-convex surface and pressurizes the sheet bundle; a receiving tooth part that is disposed opposite to the pressure tooth part so as to receive pressurization from the pressure tooth part with the sheet bundle held therebetween; a moving part that reciprocates the pressure tooth part with respect to a receiving surface of the receiving tooth part; and a drive part that drives the moving part that moves the pressure tooth part for crimping of the sheet bundle. The pressure tooth part is divided in the direction crossing the pressurizing direction of the pressure tooth part into a plurality of pressure tooth parts, and the obtained pressure tooth parts are sequentially pressurized for crimping.

A sheet folding apparatus for folding a sheet is provided with a hold member that holds a transported sheet in a substantially cylindrical shape, a shift member that presses the outer circumferential surface of the sheet of the substantially cylindrical shape held by the hold member to make a substantially flat shape, and a discharge section that further presses the sheet made the substantially flat shape by the shift member, while discharging in a direction crossing a transport direction. By this means, it is possible to provide a relatively compact sheet folding apparatus.

A corner cut apparatus for entering into a transport path for transporting a sheet in a crossing direction to cut corners of the sheet includes a cut blade frame that supports a cut blade shifting with respect to the sheet surface, a receiving blade frame that supports a receiving blade for receiving the shifting cut blade, and a drive member that causes the cut blade frame and the receiving blade frame to enter into the transport path of the sheet, where blade shapes of the cut blade and the receiving blade are a back-to-back shape with an entry direction as a reference line. By this means, it is possible to provide the apparatus for cutting corners at the lead edge and end edge of the sheet in an inclined or curved manner, only by shifting (up and down) the blade with respect to the sheet surface.

The present load support apparatus comprises an object support apparatusincludes a regulating devicethat regulates movement of a support frame unitwith respect to a fixed frame unit. Provided is an apparatus provided with a collection tray for receiving a discharged sheet and shifting, a discharge unit (binding unit constituting a part of a sheet processing apparatus) for discharging a sheet, a shift rail (up-and-down rail including an up-and-down rack) provided in the discharge unit to permit a shift of the collection tray corresponding to a sheet collection amount of the collection tray, a drive member (up-and-down motor) that shifts the collection tray along the shift rail, and an extension rail capable of being added and set onto the shift rail to extend a shift range of the collection tray. By this means, it is possible to increase a collection amount of sheets relatively with ease.

To realize a mechanism that can support an article at a desired position in such a way as to be able to move the article, with a thin, simple configuration. A load support mechanismincludes a fixed support section, which includes a fixed cam; a movable support section, which receives a load and can move vertically; a horizontal cam groove, which is provided in the movable support section; a cam follower member, which can move horizontally along the cam groove; a first spring, which is mounted between the fixed support section and the movable support section to support a load; and a second spring, which pushes the cam follower member horizontally and presses the cam follower member against a fixed cam surfaceof the fixed cam. A reaction force of the fixed cam against the cam follower contains a vertical component depending on a height position of the movable support section, and the vertical component assists or reduces the spring's force to push up the load. A cam shape of the fixed cam surface is provided in such a way that the load acting around the cam follower, the spring forces of the first and second springs, and the reaction force applied from the fixed cam are balanced against each other.

A sheet folding apparatus for performing folding processing on a sheet in a transporting direction from a carry-in entrance toward a carrying-out exit, has a first transport path for guiding the sheet without performing folding processing; a second transport path for performing folding processing on the sheet; a third transport path for guiding the folded sheet towards the carrying-out exit; and a folding processing device disposed in the second transport path to fold the sheet. The second transport path has a path end portion for guiding the sheet to adjust a folding position of the sheet, a nip point to nip the sheet for folding, and a folded sheet guide path for guiding the folded sheet. The first transport path is arranged between the path end portion of the second transport path and the folding processing device.

Sheet folding apparatus and image formation system provided with the apparatus

A sheet finishing apparatus includes a first conveyance path connected to a sheet conveyance inlet, a second conveyance path branching from the first conveyance path, a folding roller device disposed in the second conveyance path for folding the sheet, and a sheet discharge path arranged vertically parallel to the second conveyance path and guiding the folded sheet from the second conveyance path to a sheet conveyance outlet. The second conveyance path includes a first guide path located at a downstream side relative to the folding roller device and guiding a rear side of the sheet, and a second guide path located at an upstream side relative to the folding roller device and guiding a front side of the folded sheet conveyed from the folding roller device. A gate is formed for selectively guiding the folded sheet from the second guide path to the storage device or the sheet discharge path.

Sheet finishing apparatus and image forming apparatus equipped with the same

A sheet finishing apparatus includes first and second conveyance devices for conveying a sheet on a sheet conveyance path, a folding roller device for folding the sheet disposed between the first and second conveyance devices, a folded sheet conveyance path for conveying a folded sheet from the folding roller device, and first and second stopper devices. The first and second stopper devices are respectively disposed downstream and upstream of the sheet conveyance path relative to the folding roller device. The first stopper device positions and aligns a leading edge of the sheet, and guides the sheet conveyed by the first conveyance device to the folding roller device, and the second stopper device positions and aligns a trailing edge of the sheet, and transfers the sheet reversely by the second conveyance device to the folding roller device.

A sheet finishing apparatus includes a tray device for sequentially stacking and storing a sheet, a corner support device arranged between a discharge outlet and the tray device for supporting a corner of the sheet, and a finishing device for finishing the sheet on the corner support device. A first support device supports the corner support device to move between an operating position positioned in a sheet conveying path and a retracted position retracted from the operating position. A second support device supports the finishing device. The second support device is formed separately from the first support device and moves the finishing device between an operating position in the sheet conveying path to a retracted position retracted from the operating position. A drive device moves the first support device and the second support device from the operating positions to the retracted positions after finishing the sheet with the finishing device.

A sheet punching apparatus includes a transport unit for receiving a sheet; a hole punching device for punching a hole in the sheet transported to the transport unit; a punch scrap container for storing punch scraps after the hole punching device punches the hole; a sweeping device for sweeping a top portion of the punch scraps stored in the punch scrap container to level the top portion; and a drive device for driving the hole punching device and the sweeping device. A sheet finishing apparatus and an image forming apparatus includes the sheet punching apparatus.

An adhesive dispensing apparatus for dispensing an adhesive on a sheet bundle includes a support device for supporting the sheet bundle, a dispensing device disposed adjacent to the support device for dispensing the adhesive on an edge of the sheet bundle supported by the support device, and a transport device disposed adjacent to the support device for transporting the sheet bundle from the edge, to which the adhesive is applied, as a leading edge in a transport direction. A refilling device is provided for refilling the adhesive to the dispensing device, and a moving device moves the dispensing device between a dispending position where the adhesive is dispensed to the edge of the sheet bundle and a refilling position where the adhesive is supplied to the dispensing device from the refilling device.
