An apparatus for mounting a vane with respect to a shaft of an arrow and/or a bolt. A fletching system includes a sleeve and at least one vane, preferably a plurality of vanes, extending away from the sleeve. In a mounted position of the sleeve with respect to an arrow shaft, the sleeve is removably secured with respect to the arrow shaft. In some embodiments, a stop extends from the sleeve and interferes and/or makes frictional contact with the arrow shaft to prevent movement of the sleeve with respect to the arrow shaft. In other embodiments, an adhesive structure, such as an adhesive tape, contacts the sleeve and the arrow shaft to prevent movement of the sleeve with respect to the arrow shaft.

Vane mounting apparatus

A cable buss apparatus for an archery bow for laterally deflecting tension cables extending between two opposing cams of the bow to prevent interference with an arrow. The apparatus includes a first cable alignment rod that is attachable to an upper portion of the bow for deflecting a first section of the cables extending between an upper cam and a cable guard. A second cable alignment rod is attachable to a lower portion of the bow for deflecting a second section of the cables extending between a lower cam and the cable guard. The cable guard can be a conventional cable guard, or the cable guard can include one or more further cable alignment rods similar or different from the first and second cable alignment rods.

Cable buss apparatus for deflecting tension cables in a compound bow

A serrated blade for an arrowhead, a crossbow bolt and/or another suitable projectile. The blade has a first blade surface that intersects with a second blade surface to form at least one cutting edge. The blade also has a mixed serration section of at least one small serration and at least one large serration. The mixed serration section is positioned adjacent to at least one cutting edge. The serrated configuration of this invention allows the blade to cut in a saw-like manner as the blade passes in a forward direction through a target material.

Serrated blade for arrowhead

An arrow rest that drops away or otherwise moves away from a discharging shaft of an arrow or another projectile. An arrow holder is operable between two support positions and a launch position. A support force is used to keep or maintain the arrow holder in the support position. A movement force can be transferred to the arrow holder for overcoming the support force and moving the arrow rest into a launch position, away from a discharging arrow shaft and the corresponding fletching.

Drop-away arrow rest

A release device with a follow-through or recoil motion for use with mechanically launched projectiles. A recoil motion is in a direction opposite the path of the projectile. Releasing an arrow from a bow provides correct form and follow-through motion of a user hand directly opposite to a direction of a path of the launched arrow, to improve flight accuracy. The release device includes a housing, a trigger, a keeper and a recoil assembly. This invention also relates to a method of using the release device.

Release device with follow-through

An archery component mountable with respect to an archery bow. The archery component includes a sensor that senses a movement of an archery arrow with respect to the archery bow and/or a movement of the archery bow. The sensor transmits a signal, upon sensing at least one movement, to a signal processor housed within a body of the archery bow and in communication with the sensor. The signal processor receives the signal and activates the archery component in response to the received signal.

Electrically activated archery component

A rotatable arrowhead having a blade-carrying body that rotates with respect to a shaft that is attached with respect to an arrow shaft. In one embodiment, the rotatable arrowhead has a body and a tip portion that preferably rotate together with respect to the shaft of the arrowhead. The shaft extends within a through bore of the body. A portion of the shaft has a peripheral retention groove about at least a portion of a periphery of the shaft. The tip portion accommodates a retainer. In an assembled condition of the arrowhead, the retainer is positioned within the retention groove. In another embodiment, the rotatable arrowhead has a body that rotates with respect to the shaft of the arrowhead. The shaft extends within the through bore of the body, either partially or completely. The retainer can be mounted within the body or the tip portion, depending upon whether or not the tip portion rotates with respect to the body.

Rotatable arrowhead

A mechanical release or trigger device including a body. A trigger forming a shaft is movably mounted with respect to the body. At least one caliper is mounted with respect to the body and operatively connected to the trigger. The caliper is movable between a closed position and an open position, in response to a movement of the trigger. A sleeve is rotatably mounted with respect to the trigger and movable along an axis of the shaft. At least one stop element can be mounted with respect to the shaft at a first end portion of the sleeve or a second end portion of the sleeve, to limit axial movement of the sleeve. In one embodiment wherein the sleeve is asymmetric, and operatively connected to activate another mechanism such as a safety or firing system, a bias element can be operatively connected to the sleeve to bias the sleeve towards a first rotational position.

Mechanical release or trigger device

A rotatable arrowhead has a blade cartridge that can either rotate with respect to a carrier, that can be attached to an arrow shaft, or be fixed from such rotation. The carrier extends within a throughbore of the blade cartridge. When the blade cartridge is fitted with its throughbore surrounding a cartridge-receiving portion of the carrier, a retention member can be retainably engaged in a bore of the carrier to rotatably contain the blade cartridge between a front conical guide surface and a rear conical guide surface. A removable tip can be contained in the throughbore of the blade cartridge at a forward end of the arrowhead.

Lockable rotatable arrowhead

An arrow rest mountable to an archery bow for supporting an archery arrow with respect to the archery bow. The arrow rest includes a sensor that senses a first movement of the archery arrow with respect to the archery bow and/or a second movement of the archery bow, and transmits a signal upon sensing the first movement and/or the second movement. A signal processor in communication with the sensor receives the signal and moves the arrow rest in response to the received signal.

Electrically activated arrow rest

An arrow rest including a magnetic ring mounted with respect to an archery bow. The magnetic ring includes an inner surface that defines an arrow shaft passage and an outer surface. The magnetic ring produces a first magnetic field about the arrow shaft passage. The magnetic ring forms an opening between the inner surface and the outer surface, and a shaft of an archery arrow is passable through the opening to position the arrow shaft within the arrow shaft passage. The archery arrow is movable between a loading position and a drawn position. In the drawn position, the first magnetic field interacts with a second magnetic field produced by a second magnet mounted at a tip portion of the archery arrow to suspend a portion of the arrow shaft within the arrow shaft passage.

Magnetic arrow rest

A steering element for a blade which is preferably mounted with respect to or part of an arrowhead or broadhead. During flight, a leading surface of the steering element contacts with airflow. One or more force components act in a direction generally perpendicular to a flat surface of the blade, to impart rotation or spin of a body of the arrowhead about a longitudinal axis of the arrowhead.

Blade steering apparatus

An arrow fletching having a plurality of flexible vanes each having a generally tapered profile extending from a narrow end to a wide end. A kicker is integrated with a perimeter of the wide end of the flexible vane wherein the kicker includes a concave portion extending tangentially from the flexible vane. Additionally, each vane may have a concave side and/or increased surface roughness to create an arrow that travels faster, straighter and/or more accurately.
