The invention provides exemplary aerosolization apparatus and methods for aerosolizing a substance. According to one exemplary method, a liquid is transferred from a first chamber into a second chamber having a substance that is in a dry state to form a solution. The solution is then transferred from the second chamber and onto an atomization member. The atomization member is operated to aerosolize the solution.

Discharge device

A discharger for a flowable medium, having a pumping device with a pumping chamber which is closed off on one side by a longitudinally movable piston, is provided. The pumping chamber on the piston side is hermetically sealed against an environmental atmosphere outside the discharger by a gas-impermeable and at least partially flexible diaphragm, and the diaphragm, in its marginal region, is fixedly connected to a housing of the discharger. The discharger is used for high sealing requirements against the ingress of impurities.

A valve mechanism for a pressure chamber, particularly a pumping device, includes a tappet and a valve disk, in which the valve disk is attached to the tappet. The valve disk is provided on the tappet so as to be movable in relative manner between a starting and an end position.

The embodiment of the invention are directed to a dispenser assembly having a reservoir bottle with an opening for fluid communication. The opening is formed to receive a housing cap and a dispensing pump such that the dispensing pump is sealingly engaged to the bottle opening. The housing cap has an outer surface in contact with the reservoir opening and an inner surface in contact with the dispensing pump. The outer surface includes a lip which engages the reservoir opening and a step which engages the pump.

The invention relates generally to a foam dispenser having a reservoir, a housing, and a chamber. The reservoir delivers fluid to the housing and the chamber through a dip-tube. The chamber moves within the housing in response to fluid pressure or air pressure from the reservoir, allowing air and foamable liquid to enter the chamber. Foam-producing packing material inside the chamber causes the air and foamable liquid to mix and produce foam.

An apparatus to make a certain volume of liquid available for atomization comprises a container adapted to hold a liquid, and a piston pump. The piston pump comprises a piston member and a valve body, with the piston member being slidable within the valve body. Further, the valve body functions with the piston member to define a metering chamber. In this way, the metering chamber is adapted to be filled with liquid from the container when the piston member is moved to a filling position, and the piston pump is adapted to dispense a known volume of the liquid from the metering chamber when the piston member is moved to a dispensing position.

A miniaturized flashlight which includes a top, and bottom, each of which is snap-fittingly secured to the other and joined by a further element, a flexible tubular housing. A battery bridge is provided at the bottom of the bottom portion along with upstanding battery separators to thereby physically separate two batteries while electrically putting them in partial series contact. The top is adapted to fit over and ride upon the tubular member. The top has a separate electronic bridge at its upper portion for permanently engaging one battery, and leaf spring for selectively electrically engaging the adjacent bulb base above the other battery to thereby activate the circuit to illuminate the light bulb located in the top. The battery is located at one side of the top and a holder is disposed on the top adjacent the bulb.

The invention provides exemplary aerosolization apparatus and methods for aerosolizing a substance. According to one exemplary method, a cartridge is coupled to a liquid dispenser and includes a substance which is in a dry state. A liquid is dispensed from the dispenser into the cartridge so that the substance may be dissolved into the dispensed liquid to form a solution. The solution is then transferred from the cartridge and onto an atomization member which is operated to aerosolize the solution.

Disclosed is the development of a miniaturized flashlight which includes a top, and bottom, each of which is snap-fittingly secured to the other and joined by a further element, a flexible tubular housing member. The tubular member is desirably of an elliptical cross-section, but can be rectangular and multi-sided. The top and bottom are proportionally adapted to accept the cross-section of the tubular housing. The top secures the contact switch in place so that it permanently contacts one battery adjacent the point where secured, and the leaf springs of the contact switch are yieldably engageable with the lower portion of the light bulb.

Lotion pump has a stepped piston telescoping inside a stepped body to define a pumping chamber. The piston has in the wall of the piston inlet and discharge apertures, one above the other, to the pumping chamber. A stem integral with the actuator spout has a sealing head inside the piston which shuttles back and forth between positions at which it covers one aperture or the other. Shuttling is implemented by lost-motion between the actuator spout/stem and piston. A spring urges the stem up at all times.
