Provided are methods, devices, and systems for a loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) reactions for detecting the presence of genetic material. A LAMP device includes an enclosure having outer walls configured to define an internal space. The LAMP device also includes a tray assembly configured to support a reaction vessel configured for holding a sample for amplification. The LAMP device also includes a plurality of light emitters configured to illuminate the reaction vessel for exciting a fluorescence of the sample in the reaction vessel. The LAMP device also includes an imaging device configured to obtain an image of the sample for determining a quantity of the fluorescence in the sample. The LAMP device also includes a controller configured to regulate a temperature of the tray assembly and instruct the imaging device to obtain the image for determining the quantity of the fluorescence in the sample.

Loop-mediated isothermal amplification devices and systems for detecting genetic material

A liner or pad is configured to be positioned on a bottom surface of a metabolic cage or to form a bottom of a metabolic cage so as to provide a surface that comfortably supports a confined animal in the cage. The pad provides a surface that prevents the mouse from directly contacting the wire mesh bottom of the cage.

A pistonless device for metering a quantity of fluid from a source of fluid under pressure to a delivery line at a lesser pressure comprises a valve body defining a fluid flowpath, and including a fluid accumulator in fluid communication with the flowpath. An inlet valve upstream of the accumulator, and an exhaust valve downstream of the accumulator, are operated alternately in such a way that at most one of said valves is open at a time, so that positive metering displacement results.

Liquid bubble detector

A valve which is primarily useful in avoiding liquid being held or trapped around the exterior of a closure member used to close off the flow from an inlet to an outlet cavity through an opening after having been positioned so as to permit such flow can be constructed so that the terminal surface on the closure member appears as a continuation of the internal surface of the outlet cavity around the opening when the closure member is in this closed position. Preferrably, the outlet cavity is a cylindrical bore and the terminal surface of the closure member is a cylindrical surface having the same diameter as the bore. When the outlet cavity and the terminal surface are so shaped, a guide structure is used to control the movement of the valve closure member so that it can only be located in a closed position in which the cylindrical surface appears as a part of the cylindrical bore. Preferrably, the valve seat and the closure member are formed of different inert polymer materials having different hardnesses and a spring is provided for biasing the closure member against the valve seat when it is in the closed position so that some cold flow will take place in the softer of the two materials in order to achieve an acceptable seal.
