A method for supporting the troubleshooting on a technical object, in particular on a motor vehicle, includes receiving first diagnostic data from at least one object control device and transmitting the data to a diagnostic server; forming, from particular transmitted first diagnostic data, at least one set of first diagnostic data and assigning at least one first diagnostic result to the set of first diagnostic data; storing the first diagnostic data sets generated in the course of successive diagnoses in a first database; comparing the diagnostic data and/or the diagnostic result of each diagnostic data set of the first diagnostic data sets with the diagnostic data and/or the diagnostic result of predefined second diagnostic data sets, which are stored in a second database and each of which contains a set of second diagnostic data and a second diagnostic result assigned to the set of second diagnostic data.

Workshop diagnostic system

An identification apparatus for identifying vehicles and/or vehicle components includes: an image signal receiving unit receiving from an image signal source an image signal containing image data of a vehicle and/or of at least one vehicle component; a memory unit storing data of vehicles and/or at least one vehicle component; a comparison unit comparing the image data received with image data of the data sets stored in the memory unit, and to identify those data sets which contain image data that match the received image data; and an image signal data generating unit which generate output image signal data for at least one output image, the output image signal data containing at least a portion of the received image data and data from the data sets stored in the memory unit which have been identified by the comparison unit.

Identification apparatus and identification method

A device for identifying a vehicle includes: an input interface receiving a first input of feature specificities of first features of a vehicle; a database device which stores a component model, an identification model, and an information unit model; a computation device ascertaining second features which make possible an unequivocal identification of the vehicle in relation to the intended diagnosis; and an output device outputting the second features ascertained by the computation device, the input interface receiving a second input of feature specificities of the second features of the vehicle through the user, and the computing device ascertaining, as a function of the second input, a relation associated with the intended diagnosis from the information unit model of the database device.
