A method for operating a photodiode. In the method, a voltage made up of a sum of a constant first voltage and a second voltage having a fixed frequency is applied to the photodiode and an output signal of the photodiode is detected. A spectral composition of the output signal is subsequently detected and at least one coefficient of a non-linear term of a gain of the photodiode is ascertained on the basis of the spectral composition. An adapted first voltage is then applied to the photodiode, the first voltage being adapted based on the coefficient.

Method for operating a photodiode and device for carrying out the method

A LIDAR system including a light source for emitting a light pulse along an optical axis, a deflection device to deflect in an oscillating manner the light pulse along the optical axis in first and second spatial directions so that the light pulse along the optical axis repeatedly runs through a two-dimensional scan pattern, and a control unit for activating and deactivating the light source. The oscillating deflection in the first spatial direction is achieved by repeated first partial movements and second partial movements. The oscillating deflection in the second spatial direction is achieved by repeated third partial movements and fourth partial movements. The control unit activates the light source to emit a light pulse at predefined locations of the scan pattern, and activates the light source to emit a light pulse at different pixels during the first partial movements and/or third partial movements than during the second partial movements and/or fourth partial movements.

Lidar system

A scanning-system including transmit/receive paths, a transmitter, a receiver and a rotating-scanning-device. The transmitter emits radiation which propagates along an optical-axis on the transmit-path. The radiation from the target-object is detected by the receiver on the receive-path. The rotating-scanning-device includes an optical-system and a rotating-deflection-unit, which deflects the radiation of the transmit/receive paths. The optical-system includes a first-focusing-unit and a rotating-second-focusing-unit. The movements of the rotating-deflection-unit and the rotating-second-focusing-unit occur synchronously to ensure an alignment of the deflected radiation with the second-focusing-unit. The first-focusing-unit reproduces the radiation emitted by the transmitter on the rotating-deflection-unit so that the beam-diameter on the rotating-deflection-unit is reduced. The rotating-deflection-unit deflects the radiation onto the rotating-second-focusing-unit and the rotating-second-focusing-unit collimates the radiation toward the target-object. The rotating-second-focusing-unit reproduces the radiation from the target-object on the rotating-deflection-unit so that the beam-diameter on the rotating-deflection-unit is reduced, and the rotating-deflection-unit deflects the received radiation toward the receiver.

Scanning system and transmitting and receiving device for a scanning system

A LIDAR system that includes a laser unit, a receiving unit, and a cooling device for generating a cooling airflow. The laser unit, the receiving unit, and the cooling device are situated rotatingly about a rotational axis, so that the cooling airflow for cooling the rotating components is generated by the LIDAR system itself.

A stabilized LiDAR system and a method for stabilization. The LiDAR system includes a laser, the laser being designed for emission of monochromatic LiDAR radiation within a wavelength working range; a thermocouple element configured to set the working temperature of the laser; a means for evaluation, designed to determine, from the radiation emitted by the laser, a measure for the deviation from an actual wavelength of the radiation to a setpoint wavelength within the wavelength working range of the laser; and a means for regulation, designed to control the thermocouple element on the basis of the measure of deviation determined by the means for evaluation, in such a way that the working temperature of the laser is set to a value, at which the emitted monochromatic LiDAR radiation corresponds to the setpoint radiation.

A sensor system for attaching a sensor set-up to a vehicle, including the sensor set-up having a housing and a sensor; a connecting assembly mountable to the vehicle, the sensor set-up being fastened to the connecting assembly, the sensor set-up being adjustable by at least one degree of freedom with respect to the connecting assembly; and at least one heat pipe, which connects the sensor set-up and the connecting assembly in a thermally conductive manner.

Micromechanical yaw rate sensor and method for the production thereof

A rotation rate sensor including a substrate having a principal plane of extension, and a structure movable with respect to the substrate; the structure being excitable from a neutral position into an oscillation having a movement component substantially parallel to a driving direction, which is substantially parallel to the principal plane of extension. To induce the oscillation, the rotation rate sensor includes a comb electrode moved along with the structure and a comb electrode fixed in position relative to the substrate. The excitation is produced by applying a voltage to the moving comb electrode and/or to the stationary comb electrode. Due to a rotation rate of the rotation rate sensor about an axis running substantially perpendicularly to the driving direction and substantially perpendicularly to the detection direction, a force applied to the structure with a force component along a detection direction substantially perpendicular to the driving direction is detectable.

MEMS rotation rate sensor including combined driving and detection

A rotation rate sensor having a first structure movable with respect to the substrate, a second structure movable with respect to the substrate and with respect to the first structure, a first drive structure for deflecting the first structure with a motion component parallel to a first axis, and a second drive structure for deflecting the second structure with a motion component parallel to the first axis. A micromechanical constituent includes an actuator designed to impart to a displaceable element a first displacement motion around a first rotation axis and a second displacement motion around a second rotation axis oriented tiltedly with respect to the first rotation axis, the actuator including a permanent magnet on a first spring element and a one second permanent magnet on a second spring element, where the first permanent magnet is excitable to perform a first translational motion tiltedly with respect to the first rotation axis and tiltedly with respect to the second rotation axis, and the second permanent magnet is excitable to perform a second translational motion directed oppositely to the first translational motion, causing the second displacement motion of the displaceable element around the second rotation axis.

A rotation rate sensor including a substrate having a main plane of extension, a first rotation rate sensor structure for detecting a first rotation rate about an axis that is in parallel to a first axis extending in parallel to the main plane of extension, and a second rotation rate sensor structure for detecting a second rotation rate about an axis that is parallel to a second axis extending perpendicularly with respect to the main plane of extension. Dual-axis ultra-robust rotation rate sensor for automotive applications

A rotation rate sensor includes a first rotationally suspended mass that exhibits a first axis of rotation. The first mass includes a first rotation-rate-measuring element that captures a first rate of rotation about the first axis of rotation and that outputs the first rate of rotation in a first signal. The sensor further includes a second rotationally suspended mass that exhibits a second axis of rotation and is arranged parallel to the first axis of rotation. The second mass includes a second rotation-rate-measuring element that captures a second rate of rotation about the second axis of rotation and that outputs the second rate of rotation in a second signal. The sensor further includes a propulsion device that propels the first and second mass and an evaluating device that outputs a difference of the signals as a third rate of rotation to be measured.

Rotation rate sensor and method

A micromechanical component includes an adjustable part, a mounting, at least one bending actuator, and a permanent magnet. The part is positioned on the mounting so as to be adjustable relative to the mounting about a first rotation axis and about a second rotation axis inclined relative to the first axis. The actuator includes at least one movable subregion. Movement of the subregion results in a restoring force that moves the part about the first axis. The part is connected indirectly to the magnet to be adjustable about the second axis of rotation via a magnetic field built up by the magnet together with a yoke device of the component or an external yoke. A micromirror device includes the micromechanical component. A method for adjusting the part includes adjusting the part simultaneously about the first and the second axes.

Micromechanical component and method for adjusting an adjustable part simultaneously about two axes of rotation inclined in relation to one another

A sensor drive includes at least one first seismic mass and an operating apparatus. The operating apparatus is configured to put the first seismic mass into oscillatory motion such that (i) a projection of the oscillatory motion of the first seismic mass onto a first spatial direction is a first harmonic oscillation of the first seismic mass at a first frequency, and (ii) a projection of the oscillatory motion of the first seismic mass onto a second spatial direction oriented at an angle to the first spatial direction is a second harmonic oscillation of the first seismic mass at a second frequency not equal to the first frequency. A method includes operating such a sensor device having at least one seismic mass.
