A method for managing the load of washing liquid in a laundry washing machine () is provided. The laundry washing machine has a washing tub (), in which washing liquid may be loaded, and a rotatable drum (), rotatably accommodated in the washing tub (), for containing the laundry to be washed. The method includes performing a sequence of partial loads of washing liquid into the washing tub (). Each partial load provides for loading a corresponding liquid amount in the washing tub (). For at least one of the partial loads in the sequence, the method provides for loading into the washing tub () a predetermined amount of washing liquid which depends on at least one indicative parameter related to one or more of the previous partial loads in the sequence.

A method is provided for treating laundry in a laundry washing machine. The method includes at least one washing phase during which the laundry is washed with introduction of water and the detergent into a washing tub and tumbled by rotation of a washing drum, at least one successive draining phase for draining liquid from the washing tub and following the draining phase at least one rinsing step in which the laundry is soaked with water, and a final rinsing step in which the laundry is treated by means of a rinse additive. An additive supply step is also included, where water is introduced into the tub together with the additive. Before the additive supply step, in a saturation step, the laundry is provided with a saturation amount of water for saturating said laundry.

A water bearing household appliance () includes: a treating chamber () in which one or more items () can be loaded and treated with water and one or more additives; a logic unit () to control the electric and/or electronic components of the appliance () so as to make the latter to perform a treating cycle for treating the one or more loaded items () with water and one or more additives; a load amount acquiring device () for acquiring and communicating to the logic unit () information related to the amount of the one or more items () loaded in the treating chamber (); and a user interface () configured for allowing a user to set parameters related to the treating cycle and to the one or more additives to be used during the treating cycle. Household-type front loading and water-recirculating clothes washing machine adapted to automatically measure the weight of the dry clothes loaded in the machine for washing, also on the basis of the information on the type of clothes in said washload entered from the outside (user), in which the measurement of such weight of the washload is performed by measuring the amount of water that is absorbed by the clothes in the washload when this is soaked with water to a point at which it is in a dynamic saturation, i.e. steady-state condition. Said measurement of the amount of water absorbed in the clothes is obtained by subtracting the amount of water that is present in the machine, and that does not interact with the washload, from the total amount of water let into the wash tub.
