The present invention relates to an absorbent article for managing bodily fluids, comprising a high coefficient of friction ('COF') backsheet and at least one tape tab extending therefrom. The tape tab comprises a minimum amount of pressure sensitive adhesive sufficient to maintain the position of the article when a user's undergarments are away from her body. When the undergarments are near her body, the high COF backsheet acts as the predominant means for maintaining the position of the article due to normal forces exerted by the user's body and undergarments. When the user wants to remove the article from her undergarments, the tape tab provides additional advantages. The user may grasp the tape tab itself for removing the article as an alternative to grasping a portion of the soiled article. In addition the soiled article may be folded or rolled up, and then held in that configuration with the tape tab, for convenient and discreet disposal.

Absorbent article having a high coefficient of friction backsheet and a self-release tape tab

An absorbent article that is adaptable for use with different types of underwear, the absorbent article having an absorbent core having a length and a width; a backsheet having a length and a width underlying the absorbent core; and a first perforation line positioned between a first portion of the absorbent article and a second portion of the absorbent article, whereby separation of the first portion from the second portion along the first perforation line provides at least one newly shaped absorbent article wherein the length or width of the absorbent core is shorter and the length or width of the backsheet layer is shorter.

Multifunctional absorbent article

The present invention provides an absorbent article having a silhouette that includes a first portion and a second portion, wherein the second portion is in opposite relation to the first portion, and a pair of opposed longitudinally extending sides connecting the first portion to the second portion. The absorbent article also contains a layered portion with a substantially transparent cover layer that absorbs fluid, a substantially transparent backsheet layer, and an optional absorbent core, which may be substantially transparent. At least one flap may optionally extend laterally from a longitudinally extending side.
