A jetting device includes: a fluid chamber connected to a nozzle and containing an electrically conductive liquid to be jetted out through the nozzle; a magnetic field generator arranged to create a magnetic field in the fluid chamber; a pair of electrodes contacting the electrically conductive liquid in the fluid chamber; and a controller arranged to control a flow of an electric current through the electrodes and the electrically conductive liquid. The magnetic field generator is arranged to create a rotating magnetic field in the fluid chamber.

Jetting device

The invention relates to a method for applying an image of an electrically conductive material onto a recording medium. In the method, the recording medium is heated and the electrically conductive material is jetted onto the recording medium. The invention further relates to a device for ejecting droplets of an electrically conductive fluid onto a recording medium.

In a method for ejecting droplets of a molten metal, the metal is an alloy including a first metal and a second metal. During a jetting operation, the second metal segregates from the first metal. A method of using such alloy is also disclosed herein.

The present invention relates to a method for ejecting droplets of a molten metal. In the present invention, the metal is a composition comprising a first metal and a second element, wherein the second element is Si. In jetting operation, the second elements may prevent contaminants present in the composition from precipitating and clogging the orifice. The present invention further relates to the use of such composition.

The invention relates to a method for monitoring a performance of a jetting device, the jetting device being configured to expel droplets of an electrically conductive fluid wherein at least a part of the conductive fluid is positioned in a magnetic field, the method comprising providing an electrical actuation current in the part of the conductive fluid positioned in the magnetic field, thereby generating a pressure wave in the conductive fluid; characterized in that the method further comprises detecting a resulting electrical current, which electrical current is induced by a residual pressure wave in the part of the conductive fluid positioned in the magnetic field, thereby obtaining a detection signal and based on the detection signal determining whether the jetting device is in an operative state. The invention further relates to a printing device, employing the described method.

Method for monitoring a jetting performance of a print head

In a jetting device for ejecting droplets of a relatively hot fluid, a fluid chamber body is made of a heat resistant material and an inner surface of the fluid chamber body, the inner surface defining a fluid chamber of the jetting device, is wettable by the fluid. This configuration provides that no additional force needs to be applied for forcing the fluid into an orifice, i.e. a narrow tube leading towards a nozzle.
