Various embodiments of the invention describe a format and procedure for a wireless communication device to request a network controller to transmit a synchronization frame so that the device may synchronize its communication activities with the network controller. This operation may be used in various types of wireless networks, such as but not limited to those conforming to IEEE standard 802.11ah.

Signaling a synchronization frame transmission request

This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to multi-link traffic steering. A device may establish one or more links with a station multi-link device (STA MLD), wherein the STA MLD comprises one or more logical entities defining separate station devices. The device may generate a traffic indication map (TIM) bitmap of a plurality of bits, wherein one or more bits are associated with an association identification (AID) corresponding to the STA MLD. The device may set the one or more bits to a first value to indicate that there is data to be retrieved by the STA MLD on any of the one or more links. The device may generate one or more beacon frames each comprising a same TIM element, wherein the TIM element comprises the TIM bitmap. The device may cause to send one or more beacon frames on each of the one or more links.

Multi-link traffic steering with traffic indication map

Provided herein is ultra-low latency (ULL) PHY/MAC design for IEEE 802.11. The disclosure provides an apparatus, comprising: interface circuitry; and processor circuitry coupled with the interface circuitry, wherein the processor circuitry is to: encode a ULL packet; and cause transmission of the ULL packet to an Access Point (AP) via the interface circuitry in an unlicensed spectrum, wherein a duration of the ULL packet is less than 20 microseconds. Other embodiments may also be disclosed and claimed.

Ultra-low latency PHY/MAC design for IEEE 802.11

Logic may enable client devices or access points to relay medium access control (MAC) frames through a Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) Direct network such as a network of Peer-to-Peer (P2P) connections to extend the wireless range of the devices or access points beyond the transmission range of the individual devices or access points. Logic may extend the range of IEEE 802.11 devices, such as IEEE 802.11ah devices, by allowing a station in the middle of two stations to serve as a relay station using the Wi-Fi Direct technology. Logic may enable relaying to avoid a full mesh technology such as is defined in IEEE 802.11s, since the full mesh technology may contain too many features that are not required for a simple or a static network configuration of such embodiments.

Methods and arrangements to relay packets

For example, an apparatus may be configured to cause an Access Point (AP) Multi-Link Device (MLD) to, during an ongoing communication between a first AP of the AP MLD and a first non-AP wireless communication station (STA) over a first wireless communication channel, communicate a suspend request by a second AP of the AP MLD over a second wireless communication channel, the suspend request configured to request suspension of the ongoing communication between the first AP of the AP MLD and the first non-AP STA; to suspend the ongoing communication between the first AP of the MLD and the first non-AP STA over the first wireless communication channel for a suspension period; and to communicate a frame by the first AP over the first wireless communication channel during the suspension period, the frame communicated between the first AP and a second non-AP STA.

Apparatus, system, and method of suspending a wireless communication

This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to latency reduction. The device may set up a plurality of links between an access point (AP) multi-link device (MLD) and a non-AP MLD. The device may encode a frame for transmission on a first link of the plurality of links between a first AP of the AP MLD and a first STA of the non-AP MLD. The device may identify an indication received at a second STA of the non-AP MLD using an interference mitigation signal. The device may cause to stop the transmission of the frame on the first link based on the indication. The device may identify a second frame on the first link received from the first AP. The device may cause to resume the transmission of the first frame on the first link.

Mechanisms to reduce the worst-case latency for ultra-low latency applications

This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to ultra-low latency (ULL). A device may generate a first frame to be sent on a first link in a multi-link operation (MLO) with an multi-link device (MLD). The device may generate a second frame to be sent on a second link in the MLO with the MLD. The device may divide the first frame and the second frame into a first plurality of segments and a second plurality of segments separated by one or more first and second time gaps, respectively. The device may indicate to a first station device having a ULL packet to initiate a transmission of the ULL packet during an earliest time gap on the first link. The device may cause to send the one or more first and second plurality of segments on the first link and second link respectively.

Ultra-low latency medium access control design for 802.11

This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to multi-link operation. A device may configure a single N×N transmit (TX)/receive (RX) radio to a plurality of 1×1 TX/RX radios, where N is a positive integer. The device may monitor a first channel of a plurality of channels to determine its availability. The device may monitor a second channel of the plurality of channels to determine its availability. The device may identify a first control frame received from an access point (AP) multi-link device (MLD) on the second channel. The device may cause to send a second control frame to the AP MLD on the second channel. The device may configure back to a single N×N TX/RX radio to receive a data frame.

Multi-link operation for a single radio multi-link device

This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to traffic indications for multi-link devices (MLDs). A device may generate a first traffic indication map (TIM) with a first bitmap including a first indication that traffic is to be sent by a first access point (AP) device of the MLD to a first non-AP device of a second MLD using a first communication link. The device may generate a second TIM with a second bitmap including a second indication that no traffic is to be sent by a second AP device of the MLD to a second non-AP device of the second MLD using a second communication link. The device may send, using the first communication link, the beacon, the beacon including the first TIM and the second TIM. The device may send, using the first communication link, a data frame to the first non-AP device of the second MLD.

Enhanced traffic indications for multi-link wireless communication devices

This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to low power wake-up radio beacon signaling. An access point may determine timing information for the transmission of low power wake up radio beacons and send that timing information to a user device. An access point may then send low power wake up radio beacons based on that timing information to a user device, and a user device may receive the low power wake up radio beacons based on the timing information.

A device may identify a request frame received from a non-AP MLD on a first link of a plurality of links, wherein the non-AP MLD comprises a plurality of station devices (STAs), and wherein the first link is associated with a first STA of the plurality of STAs. The device may cause to send a response frame to the non-AP MLD on the first link to establish the plurality of links between the device and the non-AP MLD. The device may determine, based on the request frame, a power save mode associated with each of the STAs of the non-AP MLD.
