The present disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. An encoding method using a polar code in a wireless communication system, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, may comprise: generating first cyclic redundancy check (CRC) bits for a plurality of information bits to be transmitted, by the number of second bits that is less than the number of first bits determined so as to add a CRC code with respect to the plurality of information bits; for vulnerable bits from among the plurality of information bits to be transmitted, generating second CRC bits as many as bits corresponding to a difference between the number of first bits and the number of second bits; generating first encoded bits in which the information bits, the first CRC bits, and the second CRC bits are concatenated; and polar-encoding the first encoded bits.

A method by which a source node operates in a wireless multi-hop network includes selecting one of first to M-th frame structures (M is a natural number greater than or equal to 2), based on a data packet generation interval, when the source node is in an active state, synchronizing with neighboring nodes in a first synchronization period of the selected frame structure, and when the source node is in the active state, transmitting a control packet to a next hop in a data period of the selected frame structure, and waiting for a response from the next hop, the control packet indicating that the source node will transmit a data packet in a sleep period subsequent to the data period and including information on the selected frame structure. Here, each of the first to M-th frame structures defines a frame including at least one synchronization period, at least one data period, and at least one sleep period, and having a different duty cycle.
