A secondary battery module includes a plurality of secondary battery units each including at least one secondary battery, each secondary battery including an electrode assembly, a case accommodating the electrode assembly, and first and second electrode terminals electrically connected to the electrode assembly, wherein for at least the first secondary battery unit of the plurality of secondary battery units, each of the corresponding at least one secondary batteries further includes a short-circuit member electrically connected to the corresponding first electrode terminal and protruding to the outside of the case upon the internal pressure of the case reaching a high-pressure condition; at least one fuse connecting at least two of the plurality of secondary battery units to one another in series; and a short circuit connection member having a first side facing each of the short-circuit members of the at least one secondary battery of the first of the plurality of secondary battery units and a second side electrically connected to a second electrode terminal of a secondary batter of another of the plurality of secondary battery units.

According to some embodiments of the present invention, a secondary battery includes: an electrode assembly including a first electrode plate, a second electrode plate, and a separator between the first electrode plate and the second electrode plate; a case accommodating the electrode assembly and including a top opening; a cap plate sealing the top opening of the case and including a short-circuit hole; a first electrode terminal electrically coupled to the first electrode plate and protruding to an upper portion of the cap plate; an inductive element electrically coupled to the first electrode terminal and having self-inductance; a first connection plate electrically coupled to the inductive element and separated from the cap plate; and an inversion plate in the short-circuit hole.

Secondary battery

A secondary battery, including an electrode assembly including a first electrode plate, a second electrode plate, and a separator between the first and second electrode plates, a first collector electrically connected to the first electrode plate, and having a fuse region, a case accommodating the electrode assembly and the first collector, a cap plate coupled with the case, and having a short circuit hole, a first short circuit member in the short circuit hole, a second short circuit member spaced apart from a top surface of the cap plate and facing the first short circuit member, the second short circuit member being electrically connected to the second electrode plate, and an induction member inducing gas generated from inside the case to move to the first short circuit member.

The secondary battery includes an electrode assembly including a first electrode plate, a second electrode plate and a separator interposed between the first electrode plate and the second electrode plate, a case accommodating the electrode assembly, and a first current collector plate electrically connected to the first electrode plate and having a first fuse part formed at its one side, wherein the first fuse part includes at least two fuse holes spaced apart from each other.

Battery module

Provided is a secondary battery including an electrode assembly, a case accommodating the electrode assembly, and a cap assembly, including a cap plate having a short-circuit hole, configured to seal the case. The secondary battery includes a first connection plate at an exterior surface of the case and coupled to the electrode assembly, a capacitive member between the first connection plate and the cap plate, and a short-circuit unit including an inversion plate positioned in the short-circuit hole, and a second connection plate at an exterior side surface of the case spaced apart from the cap plate and extending over at least a portion of the short-circuit hole, the second connection plate being coupled to the electrode assembly.

A battery module, which can improve safety against overcharge and puncture on a module basis. The battery module includes a plurality of battery cells arranged in a row, each of the plurality of battery cells including terminals and a safety vent, a plurality of bus bars connecting the plurality of battery cells, a duct mechanically coupled to the plurality of battery cells to seal the safety vent, an extension plate electrically connected to a first battery cell among the plurality of battery cells and extending toward the duct, and a short-circuit plate electrically connected to a second terminal of a second battery cell among the plurality of battery cells and extending toward the duct, wherein the duct is electrically connected to the extension plate and is spaced apart from the short-circuit plate.

A rechargeable battery including an electrode assembly; a case housing the electrode assembly; a cap assembly including a cap plate having a short-circuit hole and sealing an opening of the case; and a short-circuiting member including a short-circuiting plate arranged at the short-circuit hole and a connection plate covering at least a portion of the short-circuit hole at an exterior side, the connection plate being spaced apart from the cap plate and electrically connected to the electrode assembly, and the case and the cap assembly are electrically insulated from the electrode assembly.

Rechargeable battery

A battery, for example, a secondary battery, includes a case, an electrode assembly in the case, a current collector electrically connected with the electrode assembly, a terminal coupled to the current collector, and a first short circuit inducing member electrically coupled to the electrode assembly and to the current collector. The first short circuit inducing member is arranged between the electrode assembly and the case and the first short circuit inducing member includes a first fuse part.

Rechargeable secondary battery

A secondary battery includes an electrode assembly including a first electrode plate, a second electrode plate, and a separator between the first electrode plate and the second electrode plate; a first collector electrically connected to the first electrode plate, the first collector including a fuse part; a case accommodating the electrode assembly and the first collector; a cap plate sealing an opening of the case and electrically connected to the first collector, the cap plate including a short circuit hole, the short circuit hole being adjacent to the fuse part; a first short circuit member in the short circuit hole; and a second short circuit member spaced apart from a top surface of the cap plate and electrically connected to the second electrode plate, at least a portion of the second short circuit overlapping the first short circuit member.

A secondary battery includes an electrode assembly including a first electrode, a second electrode, and a separator between the first electrode and the second electrode, a case accommodating the electrode assembly, a cap assembly including a cap plate having a first through-hole and coupled to the case and a short-circuiting member electrically coupled to one of the first and second electrodes, and a displacement plate in the first through-hole and spaced from a bottom surface of the short-circuiting member at a first position, and configured to be separated from the first through-hole and to contact the bottom surface of the short-circuiting member at a second position.
