A display device includes a display panel, a first film, and a polarizing film. The display panel includes a first surface, a second surface opposite to the first surface, and a side surface. The first film is beneath the first surface of the display panel. The polarizing film is on the second surface of the display panel. The polarizing film has a haze area including a yellow area extending along an edge of the polarizing film in a plan view.

Display device and method of manufacturing the same

A display panel includes a first surface, a second surface opposite to the first surface, an outermost side surface, a first film beneath the first surface of the display panel, and a polarizing film on the second surface of the display panel. The first film includes a first burr disposed along an edge of the first film adjacent to an outermost side surface of the first film. Further, the first film has a first width in one direction and the polarizing film has a second width in the one direction that is greater than the first width.

The panel part is operated in a first state in which the display panel is substantially aligned with the backlight part or in a second state in which the display panel is not substantially aligned with the backlight part. The display panel receives the light from the backlight unit in the first state and receives an external light in the second state.
