Disclosed herein is a vehicle and a vehicle controlling method, the purpose is to optimize the control of engine, a heater, and an air conditioner based on running load of the vehicle. In accordance of the present embodiment, a vehicle controlling method of a vehicle including an engine, a heater, and an air conditioner, the method includes determining required heating, latent engine heat, and running load of the vehicle and determining a driving pattern of the vehicle based on the required heating, the latent engine heat, and the running load of the vehicle.

Vehicle and method of controlling the same

A vehicle is provided to include an engine, a motor operating with electrical energy of a battery, an engine clutch for switching between an operation mode including an EV mode for transferring power generated by the motor to wheels and an HEV mode for transferring power generated by the engine and the motor to the wheels, and a controller. The controller collects status information from the motor and the engine, determines an equivalence factor based on status information of the battery and load information using electrical energy of the battery and determines an operation mode in which energy consumption is minimized among a plurality of energy consumption amounts calculated based on the determined equivalent factor and the modes of the engine clutch.

Vehicle and controlling method thereof

A system and method for rapid lithium ion battery charging are provided. The method for rapid charging a lithium ion battery may include generating a reduced order electrochemical model (ROM) of the lithium ion battery in which a state-of-charge (SOC) model, a side reaction model and a degradation model are embedded. The method may further include calculating an SOC, a side reaction rate, and a lithium plating rate from the ROM. The method may further include generating a charging protocol based on the SOC and a required SOC, and applying the charging protocol to the lithium ion battery.

System and method for rapid charging lithium ion battery

An engine operation control apparatus and engine operation control method of a vehicle are provided. The engine operation control apparatus includes a coolant temperature sensor that detects a coolant temperature of a coolant line which passes through an engine. Further, the apparatus includes first and second maps in which corresponding engine operating points are mapped to a vehicle speed, a gear stage, a driver requesting torque, and an electric field load amount of the vehicle. A controller determines a candidate operating point using any one of the first and second maps based on a comparison between the coolant temperature and a predetermined threshold value and determines an optimal operating point of the engine using the candidate operating point.
