An electronic device includes: a communication unit performing communication with a preset voice recognition server; a microphone receiving voice information; and a controller executing a specific function on the basis of voice information received through the microphone, wherein after voice information is received through the microphone, the controller determines whether a wake-up word is detected within a preset time, and when the wake-up word is detected within the preset time, the controller performs voice recognition on the voice information received before the wake-up word is detected, and when the wake-up word is not detected within the preset time, the controller does not perform voice recognition on the voice information received before the wake-up word is detected.

An electronic device according to the present invention and a control method for the device comprises a first wireless communication module; a second wireless communication module; and a controller obtaining information of contents from at least one different device through a first communication channel formed by the first wireless communication module and obtaining the contents through the first communication channel or forming a second communication channel by using the second wireless communication module on the basis of the information of the obtained contents and obtaining data of the contents through the second communication channel formed. Disclosed are a mobile terminal and a control method thereof, which has a display unit for displaying a virtual keypad and texts input by the virtual keypad. The mobile terminal includes a display unit and a controller. The display unit has a first area in which a virtual keypad is displayed and a second area in which a character input by a touch applied to the virtual keypad is displayed, and displays a first cursor for guiding a position at which a character is to be input. When an editing mode is executed in the state in which the first cursor is displayed, the controller displays, in the second area, a second cursor different from the first cursor, and selectively activates any one of the first and second cursors.
