A concentrated fixing solution which includes at least a thiosulfate, a water-soluble aluminum salt, and a compound having an absorbance of from 0.25 to 1.15 by a prescribed colorimetric method, and does not substantially contain a boron compound is disclosed. In a photosensitive material processing apparatus having a wash tank for washing photosensitive material with a relatively large volume of water after development, means for releasing silver cations into wash water is provided for preventing bio-slime generation in the wash tank. Silver cations can be dissolved out from a silver alloy through electrolysis or from a silver release agent. A method for preventing bio-slime from accumulating in the wash tank includes the steps of: releasing silver cations into wash water, and optionally, draining wash water from the wash tank, and forcedly drying the wash tank.

A photosensitive material processor having a processing tank for processing a photosensitive material includes a circulating pipeline having a circulating pump for circulating a liquid in the processing tank; a first pump for supplying for supplying a stock solution to a mixing tank; a second pump for supplying a dilution liquid to the mixing tank; a supply pipeline for connecting the mixing tank and a portion of the circulating pipeline upstream of the circulating pump so that the processing solution prepared in the mixing tank is supplied to the processing tank; and a controller for controlling the first and second pumps so that a ratio of periods of discharge of the liquids becomes a predetermined ratio and for operating the circulating pump when the stock solution and the dilution liquid are supplied to the mixing tank by predetermined amounts. Accordingly, in a case where the processing solution is supplied to an empty processing tank, since the circulating pump is operated when the stock solution and the dilution liquid are supplied to the mixing tank by predetermined amounts, the processing solution is sucked by the circulating pump, and air is prevented from remaining in the supply pipeline and the like.

Photographic silver halide photosensitive material is continuously processed through an automatic processor by passing the photosensitive material through a developing tank filled with a developer and then through a fixing tank filled with a fixer while supplying developer and fixer replenishers to the developing and fixing tanks in amounts corresponding to the processing quantity. The replenisher amount can be reduced by adding a chelating agent to the developer and its replenisher. For continuous development of X-ray film in a processing tank, a processing solution having a plurality of partial stocks diluted with water is replenished to the tank. The replenishing system includes a cartridge having discrete compartments partitioned therein and filled with the partial stocks and a storage tank having discrete compartments partitioned therein, wherein the partial stocks are transferred from the cartridge compartments into the storage tank compartments, respectively, and the partial stocks are then pumped from the storage tank compartments in amounts corresponding to a desired mix proportion of the partial stocks to the processing tank along with the diluent water.
