A medical retrieval instrument of the present invention includes a plurality of filaments for holding an object and a hollow section through which a first end of each of said plurality of filaments passes. The hollow section comprises a plurality of fixing sections for fixing a second end of each of said plurality of filaments, for example. The hollow section is arranged in a distal end portion of a sheath. The hollow section is inserted into the body cavity by the sheath and then holds an object such as renal calculus or ureteral calculus in the body cavity and retrieves them to outside the body.

The treatment tool for an endoscope has an operation portion including an operation portion body and a slider. The operation portion body has a proximal end portion provided with a ring-like finger engaging portion, and a grip portion is formed to be adjacent to the finger engaging portion. The slider has a pair of flanges for engaging a finger and a finger rest extending from the flange adjacent the rear end portion. An operator can insert his or her thumb of one hand into the ring-like finger engaging portion, and engages another finger of the same hand between the pair of flanges of the slider. The operation portion body and the slider can be relatively moved thereby. Otherwise, the operator can also relatively move the operation portion body and the slider by gripping the grip portion of the operation portion body on his or her palm of one hand and by engaging the thumb of the same hand on the finger rest of the slider shaped like a hood.

A medical treatment instrument is provided with a treatment section for treating issue, an insertion section which has at one end the treatment section, and an operating section which is provided at the other end of the insertion section, operates the treatment section, and has a fixed portion and a movable portion. A medical instrument performs at least one of suture and ligation to form a suitable knot in a piece of suture within a body cavity. This medical instrument includes a suture having a first end portion, a second end portion, and at least one loop formed in advance at an intermediate portion between the first and second end portions to have a predetermined size, and a suture suitable for application to a body tissue, and a cylindrical body for holding the loop to almost maintain the size thereof. The body has a fastening portion for fastening at least one portion of the suture. The medical instrument further includes an inserting instrument which is to be inserted into the body cavity, which has a distal end portion that can be arranged in the body cavity, and an operating portion, arranged outside the body, for operating the distal end portion thereof, and on which a holding member having the suture wound thereon is mounted. The distal end portion of the inserting instrument projects beyond the loop held by the holding member, and has a gripping member capable of gripping the suture. This inserting instrument causes the first end portion of the suture gripped near an insertion port to the body cavity and in the body cavity to pass through the loop, thereby forming a knot.

Suturing instrument

A surgical device for stapling and fastening body tissues, comprises an insertion section extending from an operation section for insertion into a body cavity, stapling member connected to a distal end of the insertion section, for treating body tissues with a high-frequency current within a body cavity. The stapling member includes an anvil and a cartridge between which the tissues are sandwiched, and a cutter. Staples are applied to the anvil from the cartridge for stapling the tissues and the cutter cuts the tissue while it applies a high-frequency current thereto.

Surgical device for stapling and fastening body tissues

A trocar comprises an obturator having a piercing tip, and a cannula for forming a passage in tissue that is punched by the piercing tip. The cannula is formed from a flexible tube or a coil tube and transforms and libitum in accordance with the shape of the surgical tool that is to be inserted into the body cavity through the cannula. Therefore, the trocar of the invention allows insertion of a surgical tool curved in a circular arc into the body cavity without requiring no enlargement of the inside diameter of the cannula.
