An inductor includes a bar-shaped ferrite core and a spiral coil. The spiral coil is formed by removing a portion of a conductive film formed at least around the peripheral surface of the ferrite core. The surface of the ferrite core is impregnated with an insulating glass before the conductive film is formed. The content of the glass is preferably about 0.1% to about 20% by weight of the ferrite core. The ferrite core is preferably an Ni&mdash;Zn-based ferrite core.

Inductor and method of manufacturing same

An inductor includes input-output terminal electrodes, a coil conductor connected between the input-output terminal electrodes, and dividing grooves arranged to extend outwardly of the coil conductor from the end portions of the coil conductor over the terminal electrodes so as to be substantially perpendicular to the winding direction of the spiral coil conductor.

Inductor

Three thin-film coils having insulating layers therebetween are laminated on the coil winding portion of the core member. A terminal electrode is electrically connected to the end portion of the third thin-film coil. A terminal electrode is electrically connected to the end portion of the first thin-film coil through the lead-out opening portions and separated areas. In this way, the thin-film coils are electrically connected in series between the terminal electrodes. Then, in the thin-film coils, the winding directions of the neighboring coils having an insulating layer therebetween are opposite to each other.

Multilayer inductor

A small-sized multilayer inductor having a greatly increased inductance value includes two thin-film coils with an insulation layer interposed therebetween, the coils being disposed on a coil-winding portion of a wound-core member. At positions opposing flanges of the wound-core member, two terminal electrodes for a first thin-film coil are respectively provided. To one of the two terminal electrodes, the starting end of the first thin-film coil is electrically connected via one connection opening while the finishing end of the first thin-film coil is electrically connected to the other terminal electrode via the other connection opening. Similarly, at positions opposing the flanges of the wound-core member, two terminal electrodes, which are electrically connected to a second thin-film coil, are respectively provided.

An LC component includes a coil conductor spirally wound around the outer peripheral surface of a wound core member having a substantially rectangular cross-section. A dielectric layer is arranged so as to cover the coil conductor. A capacitor electrode is provided on the dielectric layer so as to wind approximately once around the wound core member in the peripheral direction of the wound core member. The capacitor electrode includes first, second, third, and fourth surfaces. The capacitor electrode is divided by two cut grooves. One cut groove crosses the capacitor electrode obliquely from one side of the first surface of the capacitor electrode to the other side of the second surface adjacent to the first surface. Similarly, the other cut groove crosses the capacitor electrode obliquely from one side of the third surface of the capacitor electrode to the other side of the fourth surface adjacent to the third surface.

A coil component includes a conductor film provided on the surface of a core having flanges. On one flange, first and second dividing grooves and a connecting groove are provided, whereby first and second terminals are defined. On the other flange, third and fifth dividing grooves and a connecting groove are provided, whereby third and fourth terminals are defined. First and second winding-around grooves are connected to the respective dividing grooves and arranged substantially parallel to each other. A coil connected to the first and third terminals and a coil connected to the second and fourth terminals are also provided.

Coil component

A lamination type inductor having a ferrite layer having opposite main surfaces each with a periphery including opposite ends having end edges thereat, the ferrite layer further having end edges at the opposite ends of the main surfaces and a through hole therein along the periphery, the ferrite layer having a conductor pattern on each main surafce thereof, the conductor pattern on one main surface having a first end portion along one end of the one main surface and extending 0.75 turn from about the middle of the first end portion along the periphery of the one main surface of the ferrite layer to the through hole, and the conductor pattern on the other main surface having a second end portion along the other end of the other main surface and extending 0.75 turn from about the middle of the second end portion along the periphery of the other main surface of the ferrite layer to the through hole, the conductor patterns being electrically connected through the through hole for forming a substantially 1.5-turn coil; outside ferrite layers laminated onto the opposite main surfaces of ferrite layer and having outside end portions corresponding to the opposite ends of said ferrite layer; and outside electrodes on the outside of the laminated body at the respective outside end portions of the outside ferrite layers and the end edges of the ferrite layer and electrically connected with the first and second end portions.

Lamination type inductor

A lamination type inductor has a plurality of ferrite sheets assembled one above the other and laminated together, the uppermost and lowermost sheets being end sheets having lead-out conductor patterns thereon and conductor patterns on the surfaces of the end sheets which face each other which are connected to the lead-out conductor patterns and which are for connection to conductor patterns on intermediate sheets, and a plurality of intermediate ferrite sheets, each having a conductor pattern on one surface thereof which corresponds to a 0.25 turn of an inductor coil and a conductor pattern on the other surface which corresponds to a 0.5 turn of an inductor coil, each ferrite sheet having an opening therethrough through which the conductor patterns of the 0.25 and 0.5 turn are electrically connected to form a 0.75 turn of an inductor coil on each ferrite sheet. The conductor patterns on the successive intermediate sheets are connected to each other for forming an inductor coil having a number of turns which is a multiple of 0.75, and the conductor patterns on the upper surface of the uppermost of the plurality of intermediate ferrite sheets and the lower surface of the lowermost of the intermediate ferrite sheets are electrically connected to the conductor patterns on the surfaces of the end sheets which face each other for forming with the lastmentioned conductor pattern a complete inductor coil.

A miniature inductor used as a boosting coil in a piezoelectric buzzer drive circuit or the like is disclosed. The inductor has a closed magnetic circuit core formed of two cores covering the outer periphery of a coil wound around inner coil-cores. A pair of cutout windows are provided at the outer periphery of each of the cores, and joint plates are disposed on the inner bottom surface of one core. Terminal blocks project outwardly therefrom, so that the terminal blocks are adapted to be folded over each other. The end of each lead wire of the coil is guided through the cutout window and sandwiched between the folded terminal blocks, thereby connecting therewith.

Miniature inductor

A small-size inductor for use in a wrist watch or a pocket size calculator includes a base member, a coil and a cap member. The base member is defined by a base plate having first and second opposite faces, a core projection extending from the first face of the base plate, and first and second terminals deposited in a spaced relation with each other on the second face of the base plate. The base plate has at least first and second recesses formed in its peripheral face. The coil is mounted on the core projection. The coil has first and second lead wires, in which the first lead wire extends through the first recess and is connected to the first terminal and the second lead wire extends through the second recess and is connected to the second terminal. The cap member is fittingly mounted on the base member to enclose the coil in a cavity defined by the cap member and the base member.

An arrangement of components for constructing a heating device employing positive temperature coefficient semiconductor (PTCS) heating elements comprising the PTCS heating element, upper and lower insulating plates, a heat emission plate and a case for entirely covering the layers of the PTCS heating element and the upper and lower insulating plates.

Positive temperature coefficient semiconductor heating device

An arrangement of electrode for positive temperature coefficient semiconductor (PTCS) for use in heating and drying devices and the like, which PTCS is provided with a pair of electrode plates, each having a fork-like configuration with a plurality of branches or fingers in the form of strips extending forward from its base. The strips of both electrodes are disposed alternately on one of the opposing planes of the PTCS body. Each electrode has an extended portion serving as terminal which is bonded on the other plane of the PTCS body in such a manner that the terminal is not confronted, through the PTCS body, with any strips of opposite electrode.
