A flexible LCD () is a flexible display. The flexible LCD () is pulled out from an upper cabinet to change a display area of the flexible LCD (). An amount-of-sliding detecting section () measures the pullout amount (amount of sliding) of the flexible LCD () when the flexible LCD () is pulled out from a mobile terminal unit () or is retracted into the mobile terminal unit (). A display controller () causes the flexible LCD () to display in a manner responsive to the amount of sliding that is measured by the amount-of-sliding detecting section (). The foregoing makes it possible to utilize effectively the display having a display area that is revealed when the display is pulled out.

Control commands are sent from communication stations (A, B) to devices (D to F), such as a VTR, connected to a communication station (C) via radio networks (NW) provided between the communication stations (A, B) and the communication station (C), thereby controlling the devices (D to F). As a result, video signals outputted from the devices (D to F) via analog wirings (W) are sent from the communication station (C) to the communication stations (A, B) so that videos based on the video signals are displayed in display devices (A, B) via the communication stations (A, B). In the communication station (C), identifiers for specifying controllers (A, B) which have sent the control commands to the communication stations (A, B) and identifiers for specifying the devices (D to F) controlled are made to respectively correspond to each other, and are stored so that a controller which can be allowed to control is specified. When the control command is sent from the controller (A), the communication station (C) adds a control right for the device (D) for example to the controller upon confirming that the controller (A) can be allowed to control the device (D).
