Functional agent-containing fibers according to an embodiment of the present invention, wherein a functional agent is supported by silicone fixed to the fibers. The silicone includes an acrylic-modified organopolysiloxane having two or more acrylic groups per molecule. A rate of decrease in the functional agent after the functional agent-containing fibers are washed 10 times is less than 40%. In the present invention, the functional agent-containing fibers may be produced, e.g., by irradiating fibers impregnated with a fiber treatment agent A containing silicone with an electron beam so that the silicone is fixed to the fibers, and impregnating the fibers to which the silicone has been fixed with a fiber treatment agent B containing a functional agent. The functional agent-containing fibers may be produced, e.g., by impregnating fibers with a fiber treatment agent C containing silicone and a functional agent and irradiating the fibers impregnated with the fiber treatment agent C with an electron beam so that the silicone is fixed to the fibers and the functional agent is supported by the silicone fixed to the fibers. Thus, functional agent-containing fibers having improved washing resistance and a method for producing the fibers are provided.

Fiber treatment agent for electron beam fixing

A molding material mixture contains cellulose nanofibers (CNFs) and at least one base material selected from the group consisting of a resin and fibers. A hydrophobic polymer is chemically bonded to at least some of the &#x2014;OH groups of the cellulose nanofibers. The base material and the cellulose nanofibers are ground or pelletized. A method for producing the molding material mixture includes the following: a pre-irradiation step of applying an aqueous dispersion of CNFs to a base material sheet or immersing a base material sheet in the CNF aqueous dispersion, irradiating the base material sheet with an electron beam, and bringing the base material sheet into contact with an aqueous solution or an aqueous dispersion containing a hydrophobic monomer so that the hydrophobic monomer is graft-polymerized onto the CNFs, or a simultaneous irradiation step of mixing an aqueous dispersion of CNFs with a hydrophobic monomer to form a solution, applying the mixed solution to a base material sheet or immersing a base material sheet in the mixed solution, and irradiating the base material sheet with an electron beam so that the hydrophobic monomer is graft-polymerized onto the CNFs; a drying step; and a grinding or pelletizing step. The present invention provides a molding material mixture that contains cellulose nanofibers and at least one base material selected from the group consisting of a resin and fibers, and that can be handled as a ground product or pellets, and also provides a method for producing the molding material mixture.

Molding material mixture and method for producing the same

A flame retardant resin composition includes a thermoplastic resin, flame retardant reinforced fibers, and a flame retardant. The flame retardant reinforced fibers include cellulosic fibers, a phosphorus compound that is grafted to the surface of the cellulosic fibers, and a polyamine compound that is bound to the phosphorus compound. The flame retardant is a phosphorus-based flame retardant. A method for producing the flame retardant resin composition includes the following: grafting a vinyl phosphate compound to cellulosic fibers by bringing the vinyl phosphate compound into contact with the cellulosic fibers after the cellulosic fibers have been irradiated with an electron beam, optionally followed by electron beam irradiation; binding a polyamine compound to the vinyl phosphate compound, which is grafted to the cellulosic fibers, to form flame retardant reinforced fibers; grinding the flame retardant reinforced fibers; and melt-kneading and pelletizing a thermoplastic resin, the flame retardant reinforced fibers, and a component containing a phosphorus-based flame retardant. This can provide a non-halogen flame retardant resin composition with sufficient flame resistance.

Flame retardant resin composition and method for producing the same

A cellulose nanofiber (CNF) powder of the present invention contains cellulose nanofibers, and a hydrophobic polymer that is chemically bonded to at least some of the &#x2014;OH groups of the cellulose nanofibers. The CNF powder has the ability to be dispersed in water and to return to a powder form again when an aqueous dispersion of the CNF powder is dried. The distance between the fibers in the CNF powder in a dry state is 3 nm or more, and preferably 8 to 12 nm. Since the distance between the fibers in the conventional cellulose nanofibers is about 1 nm, the present invention reduces the Van der Waals force between the fibers (i.e., the force of attraction between the fibers) to one millionth of that of the conventional cellulose nanofibers. Thus, the present invention provides the CNF powder that can be used in a powder form, and that can also be reversibly changed between a powder state and a dispersed state in water, and a method for producing the CNF powder.
