The extruded propylene-based resin composite foam () according to the present invention is provided by extrusion-foaming a molding material containing a propylene-based resin. The propylene-based resin forming the extruded foam has an olefin-based polymer whose loss tangent (tan &#x3b4;) is 0.04 to 100 at a temperature of 298 K and a frequency of 10 Hz. The molding material includes a fibrous filler in an amount of more than 0 mass % and 60 mass % or less of the entirety of the molding material. The extruded composite foam () includes: first extruded foam () whose closed cell content is 40 percent or more and whose expansion ratio is 10 or more; and second extruded foam () whose closed cell content is less than 40 percent and whose expansion ratio is 10 or more.

An object of the present invention is to provide an extruded propylene-based resin foam in which a average diameter of cells therein can be reduced while a high expansion ratio remains high, thereby providing an excellent insulation efficiency. The extruded propylene-based resin foam according to the present invention is extruded propylene-based resin foam that is formed by extrusion-foaming a propylene-based resin, and the extruded propylene-based resin foam has the expansion ratio of 10 or more and the average cell diameter of less than 400 &#x3bc;m. With this configuration, the extruded foam can have a plurality of air bubble walls therein. Thus, the extruded propylene-based resin foam can efficiently block external radiant heat, thereby realizing excellent insulation efficiency.

Provided is a method for producing blow moldings having a relatively large size through blow molding by use of a simple facility. The polypropylene-based resin composition of the invention consists basically of (a) a polypropylene resin or a block copolymer of propylene and ethylene of specified ethylene content specified in terms of the melt index and the isotacticity relative to the isotactic pentad of the propylene moiety and (b) a talc powder specified in terms of the average particle diameter and the average aspect ratio of particles. The resin composition has good blow-moldability and is capable of giving molded articles having excellent mechanical strengths and dimensional accuracy to be useful, for example, as a material of automobile bumper beams. The performance of the resin composition can be further improved when the composition is a ternary composition by partially replacing the component (a) with (a') a high-density polyethylene specified in terms of the melt index and a special parameter derived from the viscosity measurement or when the composition is a quaternary composition consisting of the components (a), (a') and (b) and an additional component (c) which is a rubbery elastomer, e.g., EPR, specified in terms of the complex viscosity.
