Cap for connector

Provided is a connector whose miniaturization is easier than before. A connector includes a signal terminal as at least one first terminal having conductivity, a housing having insulating property and holding the signal terminal, a shell having conductivity and covering the housing, and an upper ground terminal as a second terminal having conductivity and a lower ground terminal as a third terminal having conductivity which are held by the housing so as to face each other via the signal terminal with a space left therebetween. Further, the upper ground terminal has a contact portion being in contact with a contact inner surface of the shell.

In a connector including a conductive contact to be connected to a cable and a housing holding the contact, a conductive shell is coupled to the housing. The housing has a first surface with an engaging portion. The conductive shell includes a main body adapted to cover three surfaces of the housing except for the first surface and a cable holding portion formed integral with the main body for fixing the cable. The main body has a protrusion engaged with the engaging portion.

Connector in which a shell can be readily assembled to a connector housing

For mechanically coupling a pin connector (10) with a socket connector (11) in a predetermined direction in accordance with a predetermined operation, a connector comprises a recessed portion (22) on the socket connector, a flexible arm (16) connected to the pin connector, an engaging projection (16a) connected to the flexible arm, and a movable member (20) movably mounted on the socket connector. The engaging projection is for making a predetermined engagement with the recessed portion in the predetermined direction and is disengaged from the recessed portion only with bending of the flexible arm. The movable member automatically inhibits the flexible arm from bending thereof after the predetermined engagement is obtained. It is preferable that the pin connector is automatically disconnected from the socket connector when the predetermined engagement is not obtained in spite of the predetermined operation.
