Upon detecting a peak value from output signals of one of either a first or a second magnetic sensor, an rotation angle computation device identifies, on basis of an amplitude compensation table corresponding to the one magnetic sensor for which the peak value was detected, a pole number of a magnetic pole sensed by the magnetic sensor. Then, based on the identified pole number and a magnetic pole identification table, a pole number of a magnetic pole sensed by the other magnetic sensor is identified. The pole numbers of the magnetic poles sensed by the respective magnetic sensors are thus identified, and the rotation angle computation device compensates the output signals of the respective magnetic sensors using amplitude compensation gains corresponding to the sensed magnetic poles (magnetic pole pair).

An electric power steering apparatus () comprises a control device (), which controls driving of an electric motor () based on the detection signals from a rotational position-detecting sensor (A), which detects the rotational position of the rotor () of the electric motor (), and a steering status detecting sensor (A). A sensor includes a stator having four or more magnetic pole teeth and concentric with a stationary-side raceway member, and excitation coils and detection coils wound around the respective magnetic pole teeth. Signals generated in the detection coils according to distances between the magnetic pole teeth and a rotation-side raceway member are taken out for the respective magnetic pole teeth. The load acting on a rolling bearing is obtained in processing means from these signals.

A seal ring has an annular body which is constituted so that a disc section extended to a radially inward direction is overlapped with one end of a cylindrical section, and a sensor member for detecting rotation of an inner ring is provided to an outer periphery of the cylindrical section, and an outer case for covering the sensor member is provided by insert-forming. The outer case contracts after it is formed and is press-contact with the cylindrical section so that a gap is hardly generated.

A pulsar ring is provided with a ring-shaped supporting member and a magnetized member formed into a strip shape and secured to a circumferential face of the supporting member so that N-poles and S-poles are arranged alternately with equal pitches. The length of the circumferential face of the supporting member is set so as to correspond to the length of the magnetized member so that the end portions of the magnetized member are butted to each other without any gap with the magnetic property in the butted portion being maintained to have equal pitches. The magnetized member is magnetized by a magnetizing device, and then affixed to the supporting member.
