The present disclosure provides a wafer inspection technology that involves less degradation of the image quality even when an object to be observed has a variation in height due to warpage, etc. of a wafer. This wafer inspection apparatus obtains an image with less degradation by: adjusting the focal point of an observation optical system to a height measured by a height sensor for measuring wafer surface heights; and further, correcting a switching signal for a CCD line sensor on the basis of stage position data and optical magnification data corresponding to the height so as to make a correction corresponding to the wafer surface height.

It is judged whether or not the creator ID is stored as a decryption object ID in a management database in correspondence with the decryptor ID (step). When the creator ID is stored, the first enciphered session key is deciphered with an inherent key corresponding to the creator ID in the management database (step), and the obtained session key is enciphered with a public key corresponding to the decryptor ID (step). A secret key is used in a client which has received a second enciphered session key so that deciphering processing is performed, to obtain a session key. A liquid crystal display includes a matrix array of liquid crystal pixels, data lines formed along columns of the pixels, TFTs assigned to the pixels for causing the data lines to be electrically connected to the pixels of a selected row, and a data line driver which drives the data lines and has a first video bus for transmitting analog pixel signals of the positive polarity for the pixels of one of odd and even columns in a selected row, a second video bus for transmitting analog pixel signals of the negative polarity for the pixels of the other one of the odd and even columns in the selected row, sample-hold units each assigned to adjacent two of the data lines to simultaneously sample-hold the pixel signals on the first and second video buses, and a shift register circuit for enabling the operations of the sample-hold units sequentially. Particularly, each sample-hold unit has a first switch circuit for causing the first and second video buses to be connected to one of the adjacent two data lines and the other one of the adjacent two data lines, and a second switch circuit for causing the first and second video buses to be connected to the other one of the adjacent two data lines and the one of the adjacent two data lines, and the shift register circuit has a logic circuit for periodically switching between the first and second switch circuits of each sample-hold unit.

An electronic still camera includes an imaging device, a signal conversion device and a recording device. The imaging device includes a solid state imaging unit and optical color filters of different spectral characteristics arranged on the solid state imaging unit to convert photoelectrically converting the photographed image. The signal conversion device converts a signal from the imaging device into a luminance signal and two color difference signals. The recording device stores image information including the luminance signal and two color difference signals into a semiconductor memory card.

The electronic still camera comprises a data compression unit for compressing image data to be recorded, a mode selection unit provided in association with the data compression unit to select a recording mode or compression mode, a buffer memory for once storing the image data compressed in the compression mode selected by the mode selection unit, and a determination unit for determining whether or not the image data stored in the buffer memory can be recorded on the recording medium. In the electronic still camera, when the image data was determined to be unrecordable by the determination unit, the image data stored in the memory is stored in the buffer memory till the recording medias assumes a recordable state.

An electronic still camera comprising a shutter release, a solid state imaging device on which an image of an object is focused through an optical system, a driver for driving the imaging device to derive an object picture signal, an analog-to-digital converter for converting this signal into a digital image signal, and a semiconductor memory card detachably loaded into the housing, for recording the digital image signal. The memory card has semiconductor memory chips mounted on a printed circuit board. The camera operates in a motion image display mode by half depression of the shutter release, and operates in a still image mode by full depression of the release. In the motion image display mode, the driver drives the imaging device on a real time basis to sequentially derive object picture signals and supplies them to an electronic view finder to display the object in the motion image mode. In the still image mode, a shutter pulse corresponding to the shutter time external set is generated. In response to this shutter pulse, the drive controls the charge storage time of the imaging device in accordance with the shutter time and drives the picture signal, which is stored during the charge storage time at a speed lower than the motion image mode, and is then recorded on the memory card.

First and second drive circuits for sequentially applying drive signals to data lines of a display panel are provided at opposite sides of the display panel. The first and second drive circuits each have a bidirectional shift register for producing sequential scanning pulses which is switched in its data shifting direction in accordance with a control signal. The first and second drive circuits are set reversely in the drive signal generating sequence at their outputs. According to this configuration, the first and second drive circuits can be constructed of the same circuit arrangement, and the necessity of crossing wires between either one of the first and second drive circuits and the display panel can be obviated.

A comparator is provided to produce a coincidence pulse when the combination of respective stages of a first counter which counts a first clock pulse coincides with the combination of respective stages of a second counter which counts a lower second clock pulse. A counter and a memory device are included each of which includes n binary memory units. A coincident signal is outputted when the output data are coincident between the counter and the memory device. Each binary memory unit produces a binary output signal ('1' or '0') and its negated binary output signal ('1' or '0'). An exclusive OR circuit connected between the first stage memory units of the counter and the memory device. Between the corresponding memory units of the remaining each stage, and AND-OR circuit is provided being connected between a first and a second terminals. The AND-OR circuit is opened when the contents of two corresponding binary memory units are coincident. A first MOS transistor is connected between a common connection line of the first terminal and a power source. A second MOS transistor is connected between a common connection line of the second terminal and the ground. A coincident signal from the exclusive OR circuit makes the first MOS transistor conductive. The signal carried on the common connection line of the first terminal and the output signal of the exclusive OR circuit are applied to a NAND circuit. When the memory contents between the first stages are coincident and the AND-OR circuits are all opened, i.e. the contents of the counter and memory device are entirely coincident, the NAND circuit produces a coincident signal to indicate the coincidence between the output data of the counter and the memory device.
