In a call transfer apparatus wherein a request to transfer a call between first and second communication partners from the second communication partner to a transfer destination is made, a discriminating circuit discriminates whether the transfer destination can respond. A control unit places the first communication partner in a holding state while it is determined whether the transfer destination can respond. If the transfer destination can respond, the call is transferred. If speech communication with the transfer destination is not possible, the control unit releases the holding state of the first communication partner.

Control apparatus for switching station connections using a holding tone

A wireless channel selecting apparatus includes: a memory to store data indicating whether each of a plurality of wireless speech channels can be selected or not; and a selector to select the wireless speech channels to be used on the basis of the data stored in the memory. The number of times at which the wireless channels have been determined to be disabled is stored as data in the memory. The selection of the wireless speech channels which have been decided to be disabled is inhibited. The wireless speech channels other than the inhibited channels are selected as speech channels to be used. The inhibition of the channel selection is released after the elapse of a predetermined time from the inhibition.

Communication channel selection method

Disclosed is a communication system which accommodates at least one central office network line and a plurality of extensions, and which is adapted to control line connection between the central office network line and the plurality of extensions. When a call from the central office network line is detected, it is determined in response to the call whether a control signal characteristic of data communication, such as a CST signal, is being sent by the other party's device. If such a control signal is being sent, a line to which a data processor is connected is selected and connected to the calling line. This makes it possible to connect an information processor and a telephone to a common central office network line, and to connect a call answered by another telephone to a desired information processor rapidly through a simple operation. Accordingly, it is unnecessary to assign a special-purpose central office network line to an information processor. When the information processor is not in use, therefore, another telephone may employ the same line. This improves the efficiency of line utilization.

Communication system having a first and second communication procedures

A communication terminal device has a memory for storing data to be transmitted, means for sending out the data stored in the memory to a line for transmission to a receiving station, and a control for converting a portion of the data from the memory so that the converted data are compatible with the type of the receiving terminal.

A reference light from a reference reflective surface is projected onto an image sensor to form an output signal from the image sensor corresponding to the distribution of a reference light. This output signal is stored in a memory as a reference signal used for shading correction. An output signal from the image sensor corresponding to a document image is corrected in accordance with the reference signal. Irrespectively of whether or not the document is being read, the image sensor is irradiated by the reference light at a predetermined point of time to renew the reference signal.

A device for preventing a sheet-like original, when conveyed to a position for reading the image information of the original, from being conveyed to the reading position in an oblique condition with respect to a proper direction. When the original 14, 25, 81 is conveyed along a guide surface 5 while being held between a ball, 8, 23, 33, 44, 51, 71, 75 and an opposed member 6, 22, 29, 31, 50, 70, 76, this device conveys the original at a certain angle with respect to the guide surface, thereby automatically correcting to a proper direction the original being obliquely fed.

Original aligning device

The present invention is featured, in the transmission of pixel (picture element) signals grouped into blocks defined in a series of pixel signals, by sending a control signal instead of said pixel signals when the pixel signals contained in a block are all white signals or sending pixel signals after modulation when black signals are present in said block thereby compressing the time required for transmission, also by selecting the maximum amplitude of said control signal larger than the maximum amplitude of said modulated pixel signals thereby enabling identification of said control signals from said pixel signals, and by sending, when the final black pixel signal in a black signal containing block is followed by consecutive white pixel signals, a control signal instead of such white pixel signals thereby achieving further compression of the transmission time.

Information forming apparatus

The facsimile apparatus of the present invention is featured, by the functions of selecting transmission modes of picture signals according to a receiving mode informed of from a called party, for example, of transmitting picture signals representative of a picture reduced in size in case an original documents is larger in size than a recording sheet of paper of activating, in case a called machine is in a automatic reception mode, an acoustic output device incorporated in the called machine through a preliminary telephone talk function to request telephone talk with a called subscriber; and of maintaining a transmission line in its active state to call a called subscriber after transmission of picture signals in case a telephone talk is reserved or, otherwise, releasing the connection after transmission of picture signals in case a telephone talk is not reversed. The above-mentioned functions may be incorporated into a certain transmission protocol thereby accomplishing communication compatibility with other transmission-reception modes of picture signals.
