Improved method and device for feeding a specific length of wrapping paper to a packaging section in a coin packaging machine are disclosed, wherein the improvement consists in that every cycle of wrapping paper feeding is carried out by way of the steps of forwarding a certain length of wrapping paper to the packaging section by means of wrapping paper feeding rollers until the leading end part of the forwarded wrapping paper is brought to the position located at the side of one of wrapping rollers, firmly holding the wrapping paper against the guide wall of a guide passage, displacing a movable guide away from the latter, carrying out an additional feeding in dependence on the selected diameter of coins to be packaged and cutting off the wrapping paper to the specific length by thrusting it against a cutting knife while it is stretched.

Method of feeding a specific length of wrapping paper for a coin

An improved coin stacking apparatus serving as a preliminary means for a coin packing machine or the like is disclosed, wherein the improvement consists in that a predetermined number of coins are stacked in a stacking space as defined by a pair of endless belts located opposite to each other with the aid of coin supports fixedly secured to the inner portions of the endless belts. The coins to be stacked are delivered into the stacking space by way of a coin passage using a conveyor endless belt. Coin stacking is effected by way of the steps of receiving a coin on the coin supports as if it rides thereon, lowering them stepwise by a distance equivalent to the thickness of a single coin and repeating the above two steps until the predetermined number of coins are stacked one above another. A control system is provided for the apparatus and it is operated so as to control a driving mechanism for the pair of endless belts in response to a signal transmitted from a coin detecting device while a predetermined height difference is always kept between the working surface of the coin passage and the upper face of the stacked structure of coins.

Coin stacking apparatus for a coin packaging machine or the like

An apparatus for stacking each preassigned number of coins and packaging the coin stack with a wrapper strip. A selector plate is pivotally mounted at one of two exit openings of a discharge chute for the selective discharge of the proper coin packages and stray coins that may be produced during the transportation of each coin stack from stacking station to packaging station and during the subsequent packaging operation. The selector plate is pivotable between a first position for the discharge of the proper packages into one receptacle under one of the chute exit openings and a second position for the discharge of the stray coins into another receptacle under the other exit opening. The pivotal motion of the selector plate is electrically controlled in such a way that the selector plate is held in the second position at least during the time from the completion of each stacking operation to the completion of the packaging of the coin stack.

A coin wrapping device incorporated in a coin wrapping apparatus has a main guide member and an auxiliary guide member provided between each pair of adjacently disposed wrapping rolls, so that these members are movable in synchronism with the movements of the wrapping rolls in accordance with the setting thereof for the denomination of coins being wrapped, and the inner surfaces of the end portions of the members define a cylindrical space between the wrapping rolls.

A coin stack supporting device has a closing disk for closing the bottom of a cylindrical space into which coins are received and stacked, a coin stack supporting member including a coin stack supporting cylinder, and a coin stack supporting center rod for raising the coin stack for wrapping and fold crimping operations, and an operating mechanism including cams and other parts for variously positioning the upper end of the coin stack supporting member and to withdraw the closing disk and the coin stack supporting member from the cylindrical space to retracted positions.

A wrapping paper supplying device used in a coin wrapping apparatus for wrapping stacks of coins of various denominations with paper comprises a pair of paper feeding rollers, a mechanism for interrupting the operation of the paper feeding rollers, a mechanism for setting the position of a cutter for obtaining a length of the paper suitable for wrapping the coins of a specific denomination, a cutter position detecting device operating the interrupting mechanism in accordance with the set position of the cutter, and a cam mechanism for varying the operational period of the interrupting mechanism depending on the cutter set position.
