A thermal head includes a thermal resistance member formed in a straight form, a first lead conductor group having a plurality of first lead conductors which are connected to the thermal resistance member, a second lead conductor group having a plurality of second lead conductors which are connected to the thermal resistance member, the first lead conductors and the second lead conductors being alternately arranged at a given interval, a third lead conductor group connected to the thermal resistance member between the first and second lead conductor groups, and a switch having a first selecting mode for selecting the first lead conductor group and a second selecting mode for selecting the second lead conductor group, wherein when the switch selects the first selecting mode, a region of the thermal resistance member sandwiched by the first lead conductor group and the third lead conductor group is heated, and when the switch selects the second selecting mode, a region of the thermal resistance member sandwiched by the second lead conductor group and the third lead conductor group is heated; and wherein the switch includes a potential applying unit for applying a preselected potential other than 0 to the second lead conductor group during the first selecting mode, and for applying a predetermined potential other than 0 to the first lead conductor group during the second selecting mode.

Thermal head and head drive circuit therefor

A plate like insulation unit which includes an evacuated bag having two gas impermeable films sealed at peripheries thereof to form the bag and a heat insulating core material charged into the bag. The one gas impermeable film of the bag is a first film having a first metallic foil laminated to extend to the peripheries thereof, and the other gas permeable film is a second film having a metallic layer vapor deposited.

Evacuated heat insulation unit

An evacuated insulation unit and a method of manufacturing the same. A zeolite adsorbent is degassed in a vacuum state. The degassed zeolite adsorbent is sealingly packed in a gas impermeable bag in an atmosphere of an adsorption-proof gas. Then, the gas impermeable bag is provided with a communication hole. After the communication hole is provided, the gas impermeable bag is placed into a plastic bag so as to communicate to the plastic bag through the communication hole. A heat insulating material and activated carbon are also placed into the plastic bag. The plastic bag which contains the gas impermeable bag, the heat insulating material and the activated carbon is evacuated immediately after the provision of the communication hole to the gas impermeable bag so that air is prevented from entering the gas impermeable bag. The plastic bag is sealed during evacuation thereof to thereby produce the evacuated insulation unit.

Evacuated heat insulation unit and method of manufacturing same

A polyborosiloxane composition to be used for the formation of an insulating layer on an electric conductor comprises (A) a polyborosiloxane produced by the reaction of boric acid, a boric acid derivative, or a halogenated boron with a silane compound and a silicone oil, (B) a silicone resin or a synthetic resin having a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ring in the molecule, (C) an inorganic filler, and (D) a common solvent for (A) and (B). An insulated electric wire excellent in thermal resistance is obtained by applying the composition to an electric conductor and baking the applied layer of the composition.

Polyborosiloxane composition for production of electrically insulating

A heat insulated tank is disclosed having inner and outer walls between which a supporting material is interposed. The material comprises a molding of alkaline earth metal silicates or a molding of composite material based thereon having a continuous open cell structure and subjected to heat treatment under vacuum. Inside and outside faces of said supporting material are provided with a suitable number of grooves. The entire surface of said supporting material is impregnated with a solution of sodium silicate, potassium silicate or ethyl silicate and subjected to baking. The supporting material has a high insulating capability and a high resistance to compression, thus it is applicable to square shaped tanks in addition to conventional spherical or cylindrical ones. The tank is easy to manufacture with increased storage capacity.

Heat insulated tank

Sterilization of a dialyzer, using a saturated and wet semipermeable membrane and irradiating said dialyzer in the presence of an antibacterial agent. The method is especially effective and safe, affords elimination of labor for preparation for dialysis, and has special utility when the dialyzer is an artificial kidney containing a multiplicity of hollow filament semipermeable membranes.
