A magnetic separation apparatus comprising: a separation vessel into which waste water containing a coagulated magnetic floc is supplied; a drum separator that is provided in the separation vessel and adsorbs the magnetic floc with a magnetic force while being rotated; a scraper that is abutted against a surface of the separator and scrapes the magnetic floc adsorbed by the surface of the separator; a scraper guide that is connected to the scraper and discharges the magnetic floc scraped by the scraper; and a scraping brush that scrapes the magnetic floc scraped by the scraper from the scraper and guides the magnetic floc to the scraper guide, wherein a lower portion of the separator is submerged in the waste water in the separation vessel, a rotational direction of the separation vessel in the waste water is set to the same direction as a flow direction of the waste water flowing in the separator, and a rotational direction of the scraping brush is set to a direction opposite to the rotational direction of the separator.

Magnetic separation apparatus and waste water treatment apparatus

A magnetic separation unit can prevent any magnetic flocs deposited on an inner wall of a water passing pipe from closing a water channel for stabilizing a magnetic separation performance and reduce cost by a small-diameter portion of the water passing pipe. The magnetic separation unit has an air-core solenoid type magnet provided around the water passing pipe guiding, from a lower side, treated water including magnetic flocs in which contaminants and magnetic particles are flocculated, a rotating disc type magnetic filter case provided above the air-core solenoid type magnet for attracting the magnetic flocs in the treated water supplied from the water passing pipe and flushing means for flushing the matrixes to which the magnetic flocs are attracted. The water passing pipe has a small-diameter pipe positioned in the air-core solenoid type magnet, and an enlarged pipe enlarged from the small-diameter pipe toward a water passing part of the rotating disc type magnetic filter case.

Urea is readily isolated and recovered from natural products. Urea can be brought into the permeate side by treating a urea-containing fraction extracted from natural products or sewage containing urea, with a nanofiltration (NF) membrane or reverse osmotic (RO) membrane. A milk-derived composition containing urea at a level of more than 0.2% of the total solids can be obtained by treating natural products such as milk or milk materials with an NF membrane or RO membrane to bring a fraction containing urea into the permeate side.

Water to be treated is passed through a membrane (net), magnetic floc positioned in a portion below a level of the water to be treated is deposited to a surface of the membrane, and the surface of the membrane with the magnetic floc deposited is moved to an atmospheric portion above the level of the water to be treated. In the atmospheric portion, excess water from the magnetic floc flows downward due to gravity to concentrate the magnetic floc. A permanent magnet is located near a position to which the membrane surface with the magnetic floc deposited thereon moves. There are further provided between the magnet and the membrane surface a moving body (shell) formed by a non-magnetic material, a spatula for scraping the magnetic floc from the moving body, and a sludge vessel in which a released magnetic floc is recovered.

A composition with a high ganglioside content is manufactured by a method characterized in that milk or milk-derived material containing ganglioside is dispersed in an ethanol solution so that the concentration of ethanol becomes 60&tilde;95%; after removing the precipitate which is generated by heating the solution to a temperature higher than 50&deg; C., the obtained supernatant is cooled to a temperature lower than 0&deg; C; and the obtained precipitate is recovered. The obtained composition with a high ganglioside content is used advantageously as a material for foods and drinks, medicines, chemical products, etc.

Substances to be processed and a hydrogen peroxide aqueous solution are enclosed in a process vessel, and a the process vessel is enclosed in an autoclave together with water. Oxidation processing of the substances is performed by changing the state in the autoclave and the process vessel to a supercritical state which is realized by heating an outer wall of the autoclave with a heater. Further, even if the substances leak from the process vessel, by oxidizing the leaking substances in the autoclave the leaking of the substances to the outside of an oxidation processing apparatus is prevented.

A purification apparatus includes a first flow path for introducing and discharging water and magnetic field generation means provided on a way of in the flow path for giving a magnetic field in the flow path. The introduced water includes magnetic substances. In the flow path in which the magnetic field generation means is disposed and in the magnetic field generated by the magnetic field generation means, a second flow path is provided in such a manner that the second flow path is guided toward the outside from a region in which a magnetic gradient is decreased. Magnetic purification apparatus

An improved apparatus for removing magnetic material from a flowing fluid such as water by magnetic separation has a single set of electromagnets which are used with a plurality of magnetic filters for continuous magnetic separation operation alternately without obstructing the flow of the fluid being processed. A high-gradient magnetic filter arrangement which passes through a magnetic field generated by the magnets is made up of at least two magnetic filters separated by a watertight partition. When the fluid being processed is flowing through one of the magnetic filters, the other filter is removed from the flow of the fluid into a magnetic filter housing which is separated from the fluid flow through the magnetic filter by means of partitions. Backwashing of this other magnetic filter is carried out while purification of the fluid being processed by the former magnetic filter continues uninterrupted. Dummy magnetic filters are provided at the outer ends of the magnetic filter arrangement so that whichever of the magnetic filters is removed from the flow of the fluid being processed, the filter matrices do not leave the magnetic field formed by the plurality of magnets, and consequently the magnetic filters can be moved in and out of the magnetic field with a minimal driving force.
